I've been listening for about an hour now and heard two interesting bits of information that have not been updated. They were only mentioned once so i didn't get time to take down all the information.

First, the dispatcher said a woman called in and claimed that two men with mohawks were discussing a possible plot to assassinate Obama. Nothing more came of that.

just now the dispatcher received a call from a security officer working in a parking garage at the corner of Lincoln and (something) who claimed to be watching four men exit a vehicle with their faces covered in bandannas carrying two large black bags. No update has been given yet.

neither of those sound like good news, just keeping you informed.

Maybe someday when I'm fed up with the overbearing of the police Ill actively begin to "help" some of the protesters in a way that actually disrupts the Police effectively. These protesters sorely lack any skills in the fine art of monkeywrenching.

First rule of successfully staging a protest / march is creating confusion. Confusion is countered by the Police using proper communication techniques IE: Police and their nifty radios.

First action is to procure a bank of transmitters that transmit on the police frequency's (Which are public record and or can be obtained verry easily...your listening to them from this thread aren't you?) Depending on the size of the transmitters they could be handheld radio size or packed in the trunk of a RENTAL car. You simply key up the mic's and begin transmitting which clogs the channels weather trunked or not and disrupts the police's ability to communicate.

Now you've brought the police's ability to coordinate their efforts a bit more even with the protesters. While they are trained to handle situations like this, they are trained to follow a chain of command and any disruptions to that chain of command will result in a degree of chaos on their par

Great thread.

They got a call a few minutes ago about a guy taking his shirt on and off. Why would someone call about that?

I wish I had heard the call about the UFO and nuclear bombs.

...added this to my favorites. Thanks!

Because even the blue and whites love them some Matthew McConaughey and are sometimes too busy to watch Entertainment Tonight.

The only thing I've heard on here about the convention is that the convention is breaking up. Also, there seems to be a lot of confusion in these calls that are coming through, they never seem to know anything other than someone of some color has done something at some place. check it out.

Not to derail this thread at all, but is there anything on-line where people can listen to the St Paul Police on-line during the RNC? Being I live in the Twin Cities, that would be interesting to listen to as well.

As for this link provided by the OP,
Pretty interesting just to listen to it.

Does anybody remember the movie THX 1138? Anybody who loves topics about the NWO will love this movie. It was made by George Lucas in the 70's.

The scanning reminds me of the beggining of the movie. Does anyone agree?

i live in denver. everything thats been said on here is not out of the ordinary. we've been hearing rumors of people stockpiling urine, and there was one place that was busted as having water balloons full of it. there was also a tear gas incident monday night that i don't think was reported on but from what i understand it was well deserved when people started running at police with broken beer bottles. i live just on the other side of downtown from the pepsi center and all i have seen is a few more drunkards, a few more self-important douches, and pretty much business as usual. none of you sound like you have been to denver before, and i grew up here. its a lot more urban and crazy then you think.

darn, they dont have any counties in my state on there.

you know, im listening to denver, and it is the butt-crack of dawn out west (approx 4:47 or 5:47AM over there).

usually .. they just speak numbers. "547", "1", "88", etc. lol.

and i thought me and my friends spoke in codes over the phone about sensitive info, these guys dont even talk, geez!

EDIT: Did you know it is common technology for police departments now to have scanners that can pick up ALL cellphone and landline conversations occurring simultaineously within a mile or a 1/2 mile or a certain number of meters radius. So they can sit in one locale and pick up all the convos in the area. Even this is a massive amount of calls to pick through, but in an extremely bad area, or if you're on the turf of a drug dealer, i can see how you could find information as the police officer with the random scanner to warrant pulling people over and/or searching and stopping certain people.

I just heard the dispatch lady say a guy called in saying he wanted to kill someone in his apartment, but decided to kill himself instead and drank antifreeze, then hung up on the dispatcher. They gave the address, xxxx logan place, apartment #5, denver, colorado.

i should find the zipcode and send a letter saying, "Hey! hope you didnt die from that antifreeze!".

i just now heard a cop say they saw a guy smoking crack then he took off running

in comparison, northampton county, pennsylvania is surprisingly sleepy sounding at 8:08AM EST, and its an east coast, coastal county right on the water.

all i've been hearing is silly stuff like smoke detectors going off for fires and things of this nature .. not one drug thing yet, not one violence thing yet, nothing!

god i wish my city was on here, and my state, id just sit back and listen to this crap all the time until i went insane from all the beeps and static.

maybe thats why cops are so irritable .. the audio frequences get them all aggravated heh.

i know i can get the actual radio and listen locally, and i may well get one for emergency/survival purposes ... right around the same time i buy a rifle. which i probably wont be doing until after its already too late to get one & some stupid, new law has taken hold.

or Nibiru comes and kills everyone.

then i definitely can't get one. damn reptillians ruining every little thing they get their hands on.

I just heard the full name of some kid along with his date of birth and the fact that he was bi-polar and schizophrenic, and that he is also listed as a missing person... madness.

edit: now they've just given his address and description

Good grief.

Still a very sweet link, but no I'm not that lame to get "hooked" on listening to a police scanner, even if it was my own town/county. Theres so much confusion it sounds. for the little bit 10 or so minutes i listened.

Not looking down on those who do, I spend alot of hours doing useless crap like playing mmorps, so I guess the key is moderation.

Also though thanks for the helpful links to the police terms and codes, and all around lingo.

again good link.
