I have a calling to help humanity

I am not a Christian, although I am baptised as a catholic however I do not practice it. I have always had this connection to the divine, weather that is god or not however I have a feeling the engage is very real.

Since I went through an abusive relationship and was very down I connected back to this engage that some may call god.
At first, I believed I was Jesus or a messenger of god because of my name and everything else attached to my life.

However, without exception, I fallen in love with an unlikely type of woman I would not generally adopt.
Since then, an overwhelming power of engery has rushed through my soul, a some what feeling of a calling to help mankind.
I don't know what it is, I feel emotional all the time, When I see people hurt. I am going to get a paid job however there will always be something inside me to still volunteer to help humans. However not just humans but everything that involves life including wild life and nature.
I have heard others have had a similar calling before and this is so strong, anyone had this feeling before without expecting?

There is a Russian word for this: prelest. In short, it is a lack of spiritual humility and delusion. If you were a messenger of God, then you would do his works.

If it lasts, then it is probably genuine. If it doesn't, then it is just endorphins. Things like this that change quickly for the better also tend to change better for the worse. I am sure that many of us on this forum have experienced what you are talking about. But then things change...

Well you was only been honest, i have been in a 4year relationship before and i knew it wernt right but you are right secod time round might not work either but i am very strongly in love though and i am getting on great with her family but you are right...

none the less, it could be true what you say.

I have this as well.
It is a feeling that you can save the world and want to. Now I know that is not possible but you can start with your corner of the world. How would you like to help? Do you want to work with the elderly, children, or stray dogs? Find what you are good at and like to do. You can always start small and pick up litter on a walk or do small random acts of kindness for strangers.

Regardles...whatever you wish to call it, I felt it. It's one of the main reasons why I do what I do today. Study study study to become a therapist. I know I can't save the world but if I save a person, who is to say he/she doesn't go and help another and start a reaction. Will it go forever? Probably not but if I can make one person's day brighter I am all for it.

So either you were or you weren't.

If you were (are) then you would do the works of He who sent you.
If you weren't (aren't) then you were deluded.

Good old "threesome man" KyoZero who relates to you is arrogant enough to write "Here we go..." about this point, so I pushed him to demonstrate that you were in fact Jesus.

Woah... unless you are one of those people who thinks he can alter traffic lights with his mind, then you really lack humility. Doing good works to help people is nice and all, but Christ was much deeper than that. He also demonstrated the truth of his claims through works.

Unless you are cleaning the lepers, raising the dead back to life, and predicting the future, then you really have a lot of HUGE leaps of reasoning there to justify such a claim.

Come on now, your starting to sound delusional. Turn water into wine? Come on, have you been reading the bible a little too much lately? A youtube video would really convince me a bit more you know.

Anyway I am pretty serious about delusion. Please tell me if any of these symptoms are familiar to you.
