The Dixie Mafia: have you heard of them?

The term Dixie Mafia is still used, almost tongue in cheek, by law enforcement and gov't officials in Kentucky.

Specifically, it's used in a manner to describe the numerous ways that seemingly "uneducated hillbillies" can devise ingenious ways to circumvent the law.

The "real" Dixie Mafia died off about 20 years ago as stated in a previous post.

Hmm this thread has me thinking...

I wonder if any of this is connected with some interesting things my uncle told me years ago. All I can remember is that there was a group of people from Kentucky, specifically involving the owners of Galls police supply, who bought airplanes and flew drugs into the US from Central America. Heck, I even have in my possession somewhere, that my uncle gave me, an actual brochure from one of the "front" companies that was used. They had various fronts set up around the country and moved the drugs around for distribution; I recall one place where they laundered a lot of their money was Las Vegas.

Those are about all the details I remember, I can ask my uncle as I am sure he would be willing to discuss it. He was involved in the aerospace industry for many years and has all kinds of stories of colorful characters that he met (some infamous).

the organization exist but this watson individual placing trust in an individual i do not trust and it is rome county commissioner kim canada and he is not honorable. he and his sister darlene shuler are as evil as they come and will stop at nothing to get what they want to the extent of destroying family. i wouldn't trust that man or anyone he is connected with. check out the lawsuit he brought against the city of rome for not complying his request. as far as the dixie mafia, i do know one ex-member so the organization does exist and goes way back.

People are being looked at in the international child porn case of Bart Huskey. He had many customers for his filth. Ms. Watson is saying there may be some collateral damage in the area of Chattooga County, Georgia. The Dixie Mafia in CC may just be brought down hard because of the plea of guilty by Bart yesterday in Floyd County Federal Court. Keep your eyes on this one guys. It is likely to explode any time now.

The Agent in charge of Anti-Terrorism in the South Eastern US got word to me about a year ago that this group and others like it "are very political".

When the Clintons first took office I was told that "things are different now" and that I "should keep my head down and keep quite."

Watson has so much information and LE just keep stalling. The cities of Chattooga County are nothing more than money making machines for the crooked politicians and lawyers. If the Feds don't act soon the stinking mess will kill all the good that is left. It is a shame and a sham.

My father was a member of this organization. He and almost everyone he worked with are dead. They were some of the most interesting people I ever knew. It was a club you found yourself a member of and there was only one way out.
I chose a different life for myself when I realized the life these men and women led ended in an early death or prison, very stressful.
But what characters.

I doubt you know anything about it. They're not nearly all dead. The enterprise is in full swing and has been passed to the next generation. If the Feds ever get on the ball, we will all see just how active and powerful they have become. The younger bunch are being named right and left. They won't go down if they give up their knowledge on the hierarchy. Interesting days ahead if the chips fall where they should. Watch the headlines.

My father passed away 20 years ago when I was 18. In the past few years I have started hearing about the dixie mafia and some people who may have been members. Does anyone know of any members in the lower part of Alabama?

The Dixie Mafia is still active and just as powerful. In fact, the Dixie mob carries out twice the murder contracts that the Cosa Nostra (Italian mafia) carries out.

They are just as big in numbers, if not bigger. There is no appointed 'boss', because the one who is usually the most financially secured is considered the leader. They don't come from a designated ethnic group, such as Cosa Nostra.

There's an old man from around my county, they call him 'Boss Green'. He was supposedly a very dangerous person at one time. However, corruption in my county is starting to fade due to many of our citizens taking a stand.

This is a new beginning in CC. A new sheriff in town. Many of the old guard have received their walking papers. We are praying for a miracle here, people. There has been so many "suicides" and outright murders that are not being investigated. Any evidence is trampled over and left useless. The Watson website is full of examples of corruption and every attempt to inform the public of said corruption is met with some kind of lawsuit. Bobby Lee Cook and his gaggle of lawyers and corrupt public officials are feeling the heat from the Feds but continue to win the battles in their fixed courts. This corruption has gone on for decades with the same group or their family members making a joke of the Judicial System. It will take an act of God to destroy this Cartel. I am personally praying for an ACT OF GOD.

Ms Watson is suffering from a medical problem right now and I worry about her ability to continue the fight. Bobby Lee Cook sent letters to her advertisers threatening litigation against them for advertising on her site last year and they all fled in fear. Who could blame them? She has a great track record as far as her investigative reporting goes. That woman has balls. A fact. She hasn't backed down from that mob of lawyers yet. Pray for her if you believe in prayer. She needs help.

I probably went to school with you, or atleast went to the same school as you. And what you talk about is exactly why I said before I am glad I left that area and I will never go back. Most of new center road in brooksville should be leveled off with all the meth labs there(atleast a few years ago, I doubt much has changed).

I watched people with businesses worth millions of dollars and tons of cash blow away everything.

There isn't much you can do to get away from it either. My parents still live there and they are constantly dealing with people stealing stuff.

Good luck, I don't even go back to visit anymore. I know what goes on there.

So sad to hear about Ms Watson, and that the people of the area have to wish and hope for freedom from the corruption there in CC. I really hope that one day the Cook corruption is fully exposed.

I am the one that put info on her web-site, and know first hand that Bobby Lee is now after me(bodily harm). He didn't realise (bobby lee) that the evidence we had was so documented, and now hedoesn't want his "hall of fame" record hurt. If I make it, we WILL have our day in court.

The only Dixie Mafia that I have ever heard of had members that are still alive and in their 60's, 70's and maybe 80's. Sheriff Earl Lee was the closet law enforcement agent to the members. He arrested many of them. Billy Sunday Birt, Bobby Gene Gaddis, Charles David Reed and others are in prison, dead or missing.

The DM ran throughout Toccoa, Luthersville, Douglas County, Cobb County, Barrow County, Winder, Jackson County, Walton County, Hall County, Wren, etc. The famous "Marietta Seven" story even brings up the DM. Billy Sunday Birt is credited with 56 murders by Sheriff Earl Lee, but he was only convicted of 3, including the Reid Fleming Murders in Middle Georgia.

The Real, Old Time DM in fascinating. People did take care of business in the old days, child molesters and rapist could be easily taken care of in the good ole' days. It was just business and you kept your mouth shut.

First of all I just want to express some sympathy for people who have to put up with the level of corruption described above. There are crooked cops and politicians everywhere, but the area under discussion seems particularly bad.

As I read the thread, particularly mention of the Clintons, I wondered if this area of Georgia was one of the points that coc aine from Mena, Arkansas was shipped to when Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas. It would show the results at a distance of all that scurrying around that was going on at the Mena airport during that period. Maybe the older generation of the Dixie Mafia was involved in that.
