I sincerely hope that you are being sarcastic. If your not... KNOCK KNOCK: HE LIED! He called the accusation 'folklore' and then was given a quote HE MADE contradicting himself. Say you want about the media but for god's sake man...

Exactually!!! He flat out lied. Then he was called on it and, he didn't know what to do. I hate these guys.

Hey Brother

I think this heat in NoCal is getting to you. Sorry, but you can't contextualize this one. Read the transcript and have a cold glass of water.

water eh? Well all I am saying is this is not over... we as a nation have driven a mad man from power... established a foothold in the Middle East that we may view all threats from and since everyone here loves the mainstream news and it seems to be everywhere latley Kerry will probably win the election becasue of indirect persuasion from the media... I don't like the future too much.

Correctamundo. As much as I loathe John Kerry, I really look forward to the debates. George Bush is about as articulate as an autistic amoeba.

If everyone is going to say that he was just caught in a lie you are not thinking for yourselves. Take the whole video in to your view look and see that Rumsfield had no information, hence he was completly unprepared, and that he was studdering becasue of the men doing the interview were completly over the top and unoffical reporters who put question upon question upon Rumsfield.

Did you watch the video? He has paperwork in front of him. I'm pretty sure that if you are going on "Face The Nation", you are going to be prepared. Don't act like they saw him at an ice cream shop and started attacking him with questions. He lied and he was caught and you're too blinded by the lies to accept it.

How do you think the whole Osama, Sadam thing started?? Clinton getting into office and ignoring the problems... leaving them for the unsuspected inheritor.

Welcome to public life. Very few sign up to be in this position and if you do you had damn well better be able to handle it.

Look havent you ever been caught in a lie in your life? Sucks, you regret it but you have to own up to it and take accountability. These politicians aren't willing to do it now.

Man doesn't this make a oral sex from an intern seem so petty...

How do you know he didn't have the quote in front of him? Maybe he did and was hoping that they wouldn't bring it up.
Again, it's not like they jumped outta the bushes (no pun intended) and started attacking him with question. He was on "Face The Nation". I'm pretty sure he knew that he would be on the show prior to the taping. I would think that a man such as Donald Rumsfeld would prepare for a show like this.

Maybe since he has speech writers and assistances who are paid a lot of our money to make sure he is well informed of all potential questions that could come up in an interview, especially ones where there is a significant reversal of a previous position...

I could care less about slick willy. He's just as corrupt as the next guy. Unfortunately that has NOTHING to do with the fact that the United States invaded a nation under false pretenses for the sake of the oil.

Let me ask you Sam: Do you know what the civilian death toll in Iraq is? Well... it's around 10,000 people. 1/3 of that number was murdered here in the US on 9/11. Are Iraqis people too? How often is the 'liberal' media reporting this?

I don't know.
Why in the world would he outright lie on national television?

Let me ask you this Joesph: Do you know who many Kurds and own citizens that tryant killed?? Do you know the extensive tourtouring his two sons, Uday and Qusay, did. The kept records of how much pain a man could withstand. They are more evil than your wildest dreams and all three have been eliminated. Now tell me if you think the death toll of the war is worht that.

To anwser your question I think that the toll of the war is a better trade than the dangerous man in Iraq killing innocent people for a longer period.

Honestly my answer is no, it was not worth it. Violence breeds Violence. Nietzche said 'when looking in to a hole make sure that hole doesn't look into you'. Think about that...

And... who armed Saddam Hussein in the 80's?

No. Have you been paying any attention to the media lately? The administrations backtracking on pre-war statements about Iraq has been a big issue. I think the Rumsfeld knew what he had said in the past and hoped that nobody remembered. He got caught in a lie and, he was stumped. Why are you the only person who doesn't understand this? Do you know what a "lie" is? if not you should look it up. Then you might be able to see what happened.

Alot of people armed saddam in the 80's. The Soviet Union, China, France and the US.
