disinfo agent

So I saw on ATS someone called someone else a "disinfo agent"

I assume that means someone spreading nonsense, but I'm not really sure. Can someone give a definition?

For anyone that stumbles across this thread asking the same question I did, the answer is:
dis-info agent is someone that is payed by government to put false information on the internet that has some truth in it and the rest if fake information

Good researching Dizzie. I would have just told you if I had seen this earlier. Around ATS it is also a name given to anyone who successfully counters another persons assertion with something that makes perfect sense.
