Are we about to loose the internet as we know it ? The government wants to severly restrict our ability to aquire factual information from independent news sources and forums . Turrning the internet into nothing but a glorified filtered TV system...www.youtube.com...

Just post any comment, so that this stays on the "recent posts" list... Give it a star and flag, too. This is the most crucial bit of information that we can get out to the masses.

Is the Internet About to be Censored ??

Not if the People Save the Internet.
If people stay informed, the lies of the "Elite Ruling Class" cannot stand up to truth...Duly informed of the threats they impose upon the People, those who are well-informed are the true saviors of liberty.
"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty." -- Thomas Jefferson

I've experienced a form of censorship that seems to be expanding more every day - more and more sites are limiting their downloads to people of one country only.
NBC Olympics vids were only available to Americans. BBC feeds were only available to Brits. (or at least I was deemed to be in a "region" where the feed wasn't "available")
Whats that all about? Why do they need to do that??

By 2012, the 'powers-that-be' plan to turn the Internet into nothing more than a glorified cable TV system where access to anything other than mainstream sites will be highly restricted - just like in communist China.

Midnight... the problem is this:

Nobody fought back when media consolidation happened in the Clinton administration. Nobody fought back because nobody wants to think they are being controlled or manipulated in this country. Everyone's egos are so huge, they think they are invincible. People are so brainwashed with utter nonsense, it's like hoping zombies will find a cure for the virus that made them into flesh eating monsters. People, while on one hand saying "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer", will look at you like you have 3 heads if you mention an "elite ruling class" manipulating the masses. I think the only cure is for these things to happen. People are so asleep, it's crazy. Mention one thing about anything conspiratorial, and watch people slowly stop answering your phone calls.

come on people its not a suprise we have had a good run

but i agree once this happens it will turn in to the biggest propoganda maching of them all (not that it already isnt lol )

you seen in the end its not the governments that are forcing this issue its the DO GOODERS trying to protect everyone and wrap them in cottonwool

incase you find something bad of offensice or maybe wake up and smell the coffee and fine out your being lied to and stop spending your wages on crap you dont need lol

these are the people that give them the oppertunity to put inplace the legislation to control its content

the problem is as soon as this happens your going to see private networks appear with absolutly no controlls no filerting allowing some of the darkest forms of human nature to realy go deep underground again and fester (and yes thse places already exist)

Alot of people once it becomes a media waste land will just go find something else to do hell maybe go outside and see the sun again and speak with people face to face

Oh such a sad sad truth. Try getting them to do a bit of conspiratorial research, even bigger joke! However saying that, my brother’s opinion has changed since he got on the net. For the most though, like was said people just don’t wont to know, their far far to busy worrying about other things. mmm. Mmm.

Still ATS will be here right, can you imagine them trying to shut this place down?

I agree, the fact is people don't care, as they say, the perfect slave believes he is free.

The human mass only cares about its intermediate surroundings, its time frame is locked in the present, there is no clear conscience about anything important, rights and obligations require the people to be educated and active, not in todays sorry state of things...

Not only are we lied and made into consuming drones, we practically ask them to, by not doing nothing, but the time will come, when they finally realize that behind the beautiful theater lies a cold brick wall...

lol, wow thanks for finding this.

To anwser you question yes they are going to censor our internet.

This is not really the GOV but it's more of CEOS of big corps that are pushing for this.

The reason is they don't want any new websites to overtake their business.

This is no the U.S gov idea it's more of CEO'S.

I made a website still working on it and was looking for an NSP (network service provider)

I found what youtube, google, microsoft, and many more uses. I got to talk to the CEO, well I was first talking to a regional manager which then forworded me to the ceo.

I was trying to make a contract with him but he didn't budge.

Well their system uses proxy servers and also other filters to have a secured network.

I talked with the ceo and he was tell me that they have a high secured system to filter viruses ect and other stuff.

After talking to him, I have learned the trend with ISP's .

They will filter what gets to you. This was proven by comcast if you lets say download music from a person that has comcast as their isp, well the download gets filtred by ever 5 seconds or so it would replace those bits and adds bits that would make a beeping sound.

This was to get people frustrated and not download music from comcast users ect.

I experienced this myself..

So I see this more of a push from big corps, not really the government really has any interest in filtering it.

Plus If this really happens their is still a way around it. They can't fully control the Internet but they can have control on the ISP. Which still their is loopholes that you can still get around the filters.

If the internet is ever censored, it will only be censored for those who do not look hard enough... People have always been able to overcome problems it's why we are where we are today.
There would be "underground" sites all over the world that could be accessed with a little know how.

In my own opinion, I think there are way to many companies that offer internet to coax into making internet like a "television" package. Overall, there would be such a net loss to all corporations that supply teh internets to everyone for there to be really any major "gain". To be honest, I don't think people would want to bother with the internet if all websites got broken down into categories such as "news" and "social networking" and "tech" and all these other "cable" like packages. What would stop some other minor business from breaking away from the norm and supplying normal networking to consumers? Everyone would switch over to them.

Also, this would have to be done globally, like in every country in the world. Because of the technology at hand, almost anything we create to block something has a way around. If internet was limited in the United States, someone would figure out how to get around it in a matter of weeks.
A prime example is how if you go on a website like Hulu to watch TV, it's restricted to US citizens only. A simple proxy blocking program or website gets you around this, and anyone from around the world can watch TV.

Maybe I'm being a little to optimistic, but the way I see it, it's just like putting everybody in "FEMA Camps". There'd be no one to support the elite if we were all rounded up, and in the same way, the internet that is making so much money for large fortune 500 corps would become a lot less profitable if it was rounded up and limited. Tech guys would get around limited internet soon enough in the same way RELOADED, Razor 1911 and Myth and other warez groups get around the latest anti-piracy coding sometimes before the game is released, and sometimes after. A classic example is Bioshock. This game had the latest protection newly developed and this would be the first time it would be used. It was supposed to be invincible. However, a crack was released several weeks after it's release. It was a big deal.

The internet won't be censored for a while, so there is no need to worry.
However, this could be a possibility when the world switches over to IPv6, but that won't be for a while either.

The internet is free compared to traditional media. The internet allows people to interact instantly and post information to the world. The internet has the potential to uplift the awareness of the average person.

Of course the elites can't stand the thing and will do everything they can to destroy it.

The question is will they manage to do this before it contributes decisevely to destroying them? Another more hopefull question is has it contributed decisevely already?

A lot of people have already lost access to newsgroups in the US, so yes, the internet is under attack, but it's architecture is complicated to control and it's still growing. I think the big plan is to let it degrade while setting up a newer shinier internet 2 to sucker the sheeple into joining. That one will indeed be heavily censored and monitored. Time will tell how all this plays out.

They are everywhere.
The question is: what would we do when the time comes?
Would we fight and even die for freedom or adjust and become conformist?

this thread should be given more stars than it currently has.
internet2 is gonna eliminate the last stronghold of freedom we have left.

btw, the link to Alex Jones' youtube message, indeed shows same number
of views, over and over again....20108 at the time i viewed it.
did google join the rest in the hunt for freedom of speech?

i find it dangerously irresponsible that this thread gathers low
support. pathetic.

I just viewed the video and refreshed it a few times and the counter and it is still only at 20108. Sometime I think Alex goes a little too far out there, but more and more things are making sense and things he said 4 years ago are coming true. It is time that we as a people band together and stand up and tell them that this is enough and we will decide what is good for us. We need to elect people who aren't backed by big business, who aren't out there to just to be a puppet. It is unfortunate that we don't have a presidential candidate to vote for that is like that, that has a shot. We need to come together and stand against globalist. Hackers Assemble.

Just viewed the video. Important stuff, and indeed, the counter is stuck at 20,108.
Star and flag. Thankyou OP for the video.

Hmm... Yep, stuck at 20,108.

I wonder how soon it will be till ATS might be offline or inaccessible?

I wonder is creating your own server would allow you to view some sites that would become off limits (like ATS may in the future)?
