John McCain is a long-time acquaintance of mine that goes way back to our time together at the U.S. Naval Academy and as Prisoners of War in Vietnam. He is a man I respect and admire in some ways. But there are a number of reasons why I will not vote for him for President of the United States.

This is my first contribution to the political forums and I hope some find some worth in this account from a highly decorated combat veteran, Dr. Phillip Butler.

I found it very interesting because it mirrored my thoughts about Senator McCain as well. Particularly, the part about not wanting a hot-head next to a red button. Temper Problem + Nuclear Button = eggshells to walk on.

However, we must consider that this Dr. Phillip Butler was seen a while back on ATS... right about... here. Make your own conclusions with these facts, please and let me know what you think!

I thought this great, sound, respectful piece to read, despite the author's ultimate points of view. I wish we could all be so civil. Sadly though, I'm still undecided about this year. I've actually *gasp* been leaning towards not even voting for Coca-Cola or Pepsi... err McCain or Obama.

Cheers to you all!
