I have seen this quote, supposedly by Alexander Tyler that states,
"The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence:
from bondage to spiritual faith,
from spiritual faith to great courage,
from courage to liberty,
from liberty to abundance,
from abundance to selfishness,
from selfishness to complacency,
from complacency to apathy,
from apathy to dependency,
from dependency back to bondage."
I guess the process then repeats.
The reason I titled the thread as such, is because I am sick of watching my country (USA) go down the crapper! The government is only half of the
problem. I have seen society become selfish, sadistic, grotesquely perverse, shallow, and down right stupid. On the federal end, there is the growing
police state, "in case of" executive orders that virtually eliminate the constitution, and asinine spending practices.
So why would I want to see things get even worse? To continue on my opening, it has to get worse before it gets better. I guess it will take things
getting unbelievably bad before people realize how idiotic they had become, and then to inspire the spirit and fight that spawned the birth of
America.
I adamantly believe that the principles and idea of what America was founded on, was and is the best hope for humanity. Up until this point however,
I don't think society was ready to handle the responsibility of that gift.
It is my believe that in the hierarchy of governments, Democracy is at the top followed by a Republic. However, a pure democracy would require all
involved to have a similar degree of enlightenment. As such is unlikely, the Republic we have is the next best thing. However, it requires that the
representatives have some degree of enlightenment, as well as be just and true. You can see where things are going awry today.
In today's environment, open revolution is hard to justify to the common man, as many aspects of government are, for lack of a better word,
comfortably functioning, and people still have the illusion of freedom and rights. And, with the corrupt state of government, making the system work
is seemingly impossible.
Therefore, I welcome the coming oppression and tyranny that will be ushered in by the NWO so that we may all rise up, become free and hopefully a bit
more enlightened by the whole ordeal. Anyone else?
