Ok, you want conspiracy? The bible is a tool of manipulation, propaganda, and control over the masses! Now that the younger people are starting to actually DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES about what they want to believe, there seems to be a need for this 'hipper' bible. Softening the message of the bible in order to be more appealing to the younger generation isnt going to create christians because you would be perverting the saving message!

The bible/ gospels isnt supposed to be popular. Its not to make people feel good.

its supposed to say You are a sinner and theres nothing you can do about it. Only God can get you out of the # you're in. or else hell.

Rephrasing that in order to be more appealing would distroy that message.

Mordernising the bible would mean applying modern "Morals". This would mean applying "your rights" where the bible says you have none because you are God's (saved sinners).

This would means the changing bible law as it is morally wrong. Things saying that the homosexual acts are fine with God rather than a detestable sin, or Sex before marriage is fine (as long as you are over 16)

I like going to church but the bible needs editing. And well be careful to give God all the glory. God forbid man get any.

I am 24 years and I am old not going to get married for now, maybe in a next 300 years (just kidding), but not for now. So I can a Abstain from from even talking to women, because you never know what my hormones will make me do and live a life without some of the greatest pleasures God himself gave us humans, which will bring frustration, probably stress and psychologically inducing an unhealthy life. Or b enjoy myself and my life to the fullest that it can be. With some of the most amazing experiences a person can have.

What im saying is people are perverting the message from the truth. The bible says you're not going to heaven except through God. right?
There is nothing you can do because you have sinned, you have "fallen short of the glory of God". You have rejected Gods way and made your self impure for Gods Heaven.

The Good News is that through Gods Grace, there is a "way" we can be saved. That is it. With out feeling generaly sorry for your sin you cant be saved right?

If you think that you want to enjoy your life to the full on earth. I advise you go for it live your life for the most enjoyment because i doubt you shall be enjoying life after death. If you are a christian then living your life happily isnt a concern, as you are living your life for God not yourself, and you have no rights because you are Gods possetion. Not your own.

What sorta christian am i? I am a bible christian i believe that the bible is the absolute truth. If you would like a denomination i would probably be a baptist as i have found that baptists teaching doesnt fall from the truth of the bible.

Why do you think is so many religion out there, and so many bible editions, because humans can not make their mind the more you look for the light the more WILL elude you, I am not againts God but against religion bs. Religion in this country is a multibillion dollar industry and they are out there to get your mind, soul and (MONEY). Haha, that was pretty funny im in need of a good laugh in the morning and I thought that was pretty funny. Anyways i'm inclined to say that making money off teenagers through bibles is probably the wrong time to start convincing people about God.

I believe that the [hippi] bible will be given for free first. The money comes from the dues at church. That is the conspiracy how to atract the young like flies on a trap and then suck the parents with them.

It looks like I'm probably the only Christian on this specific topic, so I'm prepared to get blasted. But anyway...

The Bible was written by man. It has man's hand all over it. The Bible needs no editing, even though I'm religious and believe in the Bible, I know that a lot of man's ideas have influenced it. Just look at how bad women are viewed in the Bible, and there's many other things like that in there also.

I agree with you bible had to many editing throught history already everybody has forgotens that the bible came from the ancient writings of the Hebrew people and that was their ancient history until the Israeli nation was born and they did the first editing taking away any reference to more than one god and made it monoteistic, then constantino took the revised writings and edited again adding the new testament as a favor to his now converted christian mother even when constatino was son worshiper he did not turn christian until his death bed. Thats when the jewish people got separate from christianity they were acused of killing Jesus and then took about more editing and adding and I forget to mention after constantino took what he wanted from the ancient writing he burn the rest. Good reference book by Gary Greenberg call Myths of the Bible (How Ancient Scribers Invented Biblical History). That was another conspiracy.

As I understand it's only a small part of my religion that has decided to make these "hip Bibles" just as it was only Carlin's idea to have the Catholicism WOW campaign in Dogma (great movie).

You can't take this and use it go bash on all of Christianity. I know many of you don't like Catholicism/Christianity/whatever but something like this can't be looked at as being the general consensus of every Christian or Catholic in the world.

Case in point, I think this new Bible thing is BS, and lately my faith has been growing stronger and stronger. Please don't bash me for what I believe in, I'm just using myself as an example.

My own faith is kind of hard to explain, but I'll say that lately even though it has been growing I've become more and more skeptical of the Bible and the history of the Church. I still proudly call myself Catholic, even though I've started to take my faith into my own hands...

I got a little sidetracked there, but my main points still stand. Don't take what this company is doing as a basis for what all of Christianity wants. And Dogma is a great movie. Thank you very much.
