this has happened on quite a few occasions, it's usually late at night when we are trying to get to sleep, the first time my husband said that he could feel something jump on the bed, we didn't take much notice to begin with but it happened again and this time he said he could feel the warmth of an animal against his leg, a few nights later i thought our cat had jumped up onto the bed so i sat up and even though i could feel there was something there when i looked there was nothing to be seen, it made me feel cold, it still happens and i put it down to being one of our many pets that have passed over, what else am i to think.

Hey there,

Ghost cat's seem more common than dog spirits (or other animals) for some reason. There have been several threads here on this subject.

A cottage I used to live in had a 'ghost cat' and I had numerous experiences (exactly like the one you describe), where I would think it was one of my cats ... only to find nothing there.

And it wasn't just me ... visitors would often report the same thing ... even my ex-partner (who was not into paranormal things at all), felt a cat jump onto the bed one night and was quite freaked-out when he realized there was no cat !

The day my mom had to put her dog down, she came home. About half an hour later, she heard a very load CRACK noise at the dog door, and the door was swinging, but there was no wind and nothing there. She thinks she came home .

How many pets have you guys had, both of you together? Do you sense which ones they are? Do you think about your past animals much and does this happen when you are thinking about any of them or randomly?

Peace

I've had this happen before, but hasn't happened in a long time.

For about a year after we had one of our cats put to sleep (he had kidney failure and it was too far gone to save him
) I would hear a "meow" that sounded just like him. But never any jumping on the bed though. Just the meows.

I so love hearing about animals coming back to visit, or people on their deathbed being greeted by their deceased pets.

I would love to experience that, never have though. I have had a siamese cat "come back" after a few years (yes sounds odd, but I am convinced its the same cat in a different body).

well we have had a few pets mainly cats, but we aren't actually thinking about them at the time of these happenings, in one respect i find it quite a nice thing

I wish my past pets would come to visit me. Majestic died 6 months ago and I am still heart broken.

I had a dog for 13 years. It was pretty much me and him.

Putting him down, wow, can't go there.

Every so often, he returns to me in my dreams. It's always the same. I always say to him, "Where have you been, I've been looking for you." His tail goes wild, and he lays down, and just stays there. It's like he returns to check up on me. His presence is so comforting.

I fully expect to see him again.

Interesting thread

This sounds very logical to me. If we have ghost and spirits, why not animal spirits?

Not sure on your "spiritual faith", could it be a animal totem (spirit guide)?

I have read, somewhere, that when we cross over our animals push the people out of the way to greet us first on the other side.

there will be a lot of animals doing a lot of pushing when i go, we have always had pets i can't remember how many and these things never happened until recently, still i think that's great

My mom just put her cat down last friday

I told Kleban that if he doesn't bring around my deceased cat, Chisby, I was going to be upset.

so far, no luck, but i still have faith...they are probably too busy smokin the nip right now...but once they get bored with that, i expect an appearence. :]

You will. I promise. Your story makes me happy.

In 2001 I lost my dog. Two years later my sister got killed in a car accident.

I hear my sister call my dog all the time...he was a pit and the funniest dog you've ever seen. He could hike footballs. I know she calls him because he would go nuts. He wouldn't hurt a fly, but he was a pit and that freaked people out. Anyway, if he got excited he would just bolt off to where ever the fun was, so you always had to yell for him.

When my sisters presence is around me, I'll hear her saying, "Samson get over here". The thing is my sister had never met my dog because we lived about 400 miles from each other, so i know you will see your boy again as well as your loved ones...I can't wait to see my sis and my dog again....Peace

I've had the same thing happen. It makes me happy yet sad, though. I miss mine, so very much.

Yeah a few months ago I thought I would soon be joining them (diagnosed with a terminal form of cancer, turns out it was an error).

Anyway, very stressful time and I started having many vivid dreams of my animals, usually the two dogs I was closest to, coming back. Really heart wrenching stuff, yet so wonderful. It was nice as it really gave me something to look forward too, and I miss them so terribly.

Good thing it wasnt a pet piranha huh?

Im kinda on the fence when it comes to beliveing in ghosts... when it comes to pets I think its alot about habits and being used to hearing and feeling these things, that your mind still feels them even if they are not there....

.. but I do wish my dog would come back and hang out with me after he was gone..atleast then I would have someone to blame for all the missing socks

but its always great if people can get some comfort in that, after losing a dear pet ..

Id love to hear more stores about it.

I have lost 6 dogs in my life.

They all seem to come around from time to time.
Most of the time I see a quick glimpse of them, but I have seen them just a clear as they were if they were still alive.

I have even seen my friend’s boxer. My wife & I were very close to him. He would always come to greet us when we went to visit.
