It is now a lunar eclipse in South-East Norway if anyone is around that area is interested in that sort of thing. Don't know if it will be total, but it's pretty close to being total.

I'm just outside Oslo at the moment.

Have fun!

Here in Denmark it is quite a sight.

The bottom half of the moon is blackened in darkred, the rest looks like a normal halfmoon just flipped over.

Very nice!

Here it's just almost not total, only a a small stripe of regular moon left. Unfortunatly some clouds just came in and is blocking it.

I've been reading a lot of posts recenly here on ATS and I got hooked extremly easily(specially on stuff like NWO ,UFOs ,Wargames etc.)
Oh yeah, the Eclipse, I can see it here clearly from Serbia, actualiy I've been looking it for quite some time now. It is kind of nice(in lack of a better word).

It was incredible in the Gulf of Thailand. It blew our collective minds. Mostly because we were not expecting it. Some of us thought it was an alien invasion. There were a few other sky oddities as well. It certainly led to some personal realisations about jumpimg to conclusions. We thought it was the shadow of a mothership. And that was the non believers. I assessed the situation after a frantic call from a very superstitious staff member claiming he just saw aliens............he was serious and sober.
I feel like an ignorant fool. I never miss a sky event, but this one went below the radar. And I irrationally believed it was a sign from those out there.
It was very funny and amazing. Next time I will keep a more accurate schedule of seemingly apocalcptic solar events, that are innocently explainable.
The whole hollow moon satellite theory was true..........for a short time.

Someone asked for a picture...

The eclipe was parcial and when I took the picture it was still underway, but then the sky started to be cloudy...

Indeed a splendid show...Everything this is so magic!!! In front of these events we seem so meaningless.
The system solar inside and outside has always been a great passion for me, then with the moon I have indeed a special bond.

Good show for those that have succeeded in seeing it as me...

And this is not the maximum that I have seen, has not been total here but has reached 70-80%
SPLENDID!!!

@flymetothemoon - thanks for your help!
I was doing exactly what you said but for some reason it did not work when I used "flickr" to host the image, so I used "photobucket" instead...

Thanks for the images and the wiki link.

I was discussing this with a friend today and embarressed that I didn't have the answers she asked with all the facts to explain the eclipse!

I look forward to seeing it tonight, it isn't dark here yet.

Here is a picture I took inbetween the clouds tonight from the UK.

Beautiful sight for sure. You can see the air haze from how warm the low level air is. Still, I saw it! woo hoo

It's really cool. I've seen a total lunar eclipse once, and then it a really cool reddish colour. It didn't become total here today anyway..

Sorry a bit tipsy but that last sentence makes complete sence to me, and I wont change it.

Edit: Good picture!

Very beautiful the photo, mine is not clear guilt of some cloud and the heat. How much has the moon been darkened in UK?From us she has entered the cone of shade for 80%

I hope to see soon that total, she must be fabulous. But has she been visible anywhere this event? I am a little informed on this
