This has happened to me my entire life.

But for me it is not a multitude. It is a single conversation. It is someone from the other side. Sometimes it is more than one voice, but always one conversation. It is always an emphatic conversation. I sense it is very important for me to participate in it for my own benefit, but not important for me to remember it in the light of day. Sometimes the voices are strangers and sometimes they are someone who loves me very much.

It is not a trick of the mind.
It is not hypnotic mojo.

It is real and brief and fleeting and I LOVE IT when it happens.

Sometimes when I am stressed or sad or lonely I try to fall asleep very still and try to "find " them.

I too can relate to this....on and off all my life....I have recently started some meds so not as much now...but I am sure they will return again...
My personal opinion is that they are voices from the otherside, passed over souls trying to communicate....I think more sensitive types are more open to this, which is possibly why not everyone experiances...
Great Thread btw

In my opinion they are one of three things:

1. The thoughts of other living humans connected consciously.

2. The voices/thoughts of inter-dimensional beings that we briefly connect to during the initial moments of a deep sleep.

3. Both.

Personally I don't believe in ghosts or spirits and think that people mistake them for the beings visiting through or trapped in the fourth dimension.

Lee,
I have this experience quite often, in many ways . The twilight place between sleep and waking , anytime I relieve myself of fluids , when the sink and shower runs , and these are just the time it happens when accompanied by some physical objects involved . Other times its just there in the air and Ive realized over the years , that as long as I dont get involved , the conversations go on harmlessly .When I did feel the need to understand and change the flow of the streams that it brought me great grief . So , I can only say what works for me concerning this issue . Remember that we live in all kinds of active airwaves , the same ones we hear on the radio and see on the tv etc . You decide your level of involvement so cool out the best you can and pinch yourself from time to time , cause your the one who has to live with the interpretations ! Peace ;-)

Nice point, it is always some conversation which I feel that I am supposed to be listening to. My impression is not so much that I should participate, but that I should listen. This has always been one of the strongest impression I have gotten when this has happened. This is the same when I see these visions flash when I close my eyes, these are things I am supposed to be seeing. This is a point that has always made it seem most strange.

you know to get the best results wake up real early in the morning then go back to sleep on the hours 9 - 10 it has to be a work day your body use to being awake. the reason its quite your body seems restless you dont want to go to sleep but your tired. When you do this it puts you in a sleep awake state but it can turn bad. you will hear voice you will try to wake up but feel like you cant move, you try to scream or say something so somebody can wake you up. it hell of scrambles. you will hear voice and clearly. it happen to me this morning some one right in my ear. i kept trying to move but couldnt saying hey hey. really im not bs its true but you wont believe until you experince yourself so do the steps you will find out.

reply to post by lee anomaFor me it's more a sence that I'm some distance from the people talking and that the volume is such that very little is understood. My epesodes start when I lie down for a nap or to just rest, and in North Carolina thesummers are hot , so typically I have a fan running and if the fan is on it exaservates this sence of hearing these voices. Try as I might, I cannot distinguist the words, except every now and again, I catch a word I know is english, a word like the, or and , or but , words that really have no definision in the speaking that I hear, its as though just enough recognisable words are heard so as not to just dismiss it as grey noise, this has been going on for many months, and I am currently 56, with less than perfect hearing, say 80% good.

The only other reference to this phenomena I know of is the writings of nikola tesla. I read an excert where he said as he lay in bed people would start talking and walking through the room, when this started happening he would know that he would soon be asleep, if it did not happen he knew he would remain awake.

My experiences in half dream half awake state are not very amazing, I can only think of two recently.

1. I listened to bic runga a lot and then could hear her song in my head as I feel asleep
2. I had a realisation that I was Jesus. I then immediatly had the panicked thought "holy # I'm completely delusional!!!". This thought woke me up immediatly and I thought "Whew, it was only a dream".

Yep, Im going through the same thing too. Yours seems to be a bit worse than my case, but mine only been happening for about 6 months and it seems very odd. I sleep in different places, like one day ill stay at my grandmas and the other ill stay home. Each time i switch from place to place i hear different voices before i wake. They say random things and each time they address me by my name. The only thing i havent experienced that you have is the different languages. I hope it doesn't get any worse for you, I, and everyone else with this problem, but all we can do is pray. May God be with you all. L8ter.

This is how I see it.

These things (voices as we drift into sleep etc.) seem to come from the subconscious mind and are normal. As we drift into sleep we go usually from being reasonably conscious to submerging into a very subconscious state. This happens as we drift into sleep. This then plays out through the night as all manner of weird dreams, or for some it can be so heavy and deep that they don't even remember having any dreams. It is due to the subconscious mind. Some people can be more aware of the sleep process than others, and notice a lot more.

There is a reality to what we call sleep that most people won't ever really see because of the mind and the way it continually rambles on and creates dreams. But if we learn to go to sleep in a different way it is possible at times to go through this process conscious and aware, and begin to see the reality of it.

Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake -Thoreaux.

Sorry about the edits. I'm new.

Yes, sometimes it is a single voice.

I don't believe that these are the voices of the dead though, but it is from the "other" side so to speak.

It happened again recently, and it was a female voice that repeated the same sentence three times.

Damned if I know what it means, but it sounded like some kind of warning.

You concern is appreciated Anonymous.

It hasn't gotten worse, it was never really horrible save for the times I heard something particularly nasty, and the event itself is brief however there is always something that follows later. Especially at this time of the year.

I am debating on whether or not to go into all of it. My past attempts have gone nowhere but I don't expect much, since this is something foreign and unusual to most if not all of us.
