BEIJING - Just nine months before the Beijing Olympics, the Chinese government's news agency, Xinhua, reported that gymnast He Kexin was 13, which would have made her ineligible to be on the team that won a gold medal this week.

Commies, can't play fair!

Fake fireworks, Fake singer and now this. Wonder what else they will do to win?

Yeah, it is pretty ironic how that there has been so many things happening for a gathering resembling peace and indifference. China isnt doing a bad job, but the way they are hosting, is just plain horrible. Thanks for posting this thread on here.

This thread seems like a case of American jealousy......sorry just my observation

They banned all automobile use before the Olympics and were desperately trying to modify the weather using stuff like cloud seeding. Have you seen a normal picture of Beijing? The smog is horrible.

I know, but cloud seeding actually increases the likelihood of rain, but in my opinion it doesnt work very effectively. I think they were actually trying to dry out the atmosphere which is not plauisble as you need to take into account the upper winds as well as the moisture content from lower elevations

Yeah I work for the Oz Met Bureau so we usually get first hand world weather too. China's large cities are almost always misty or smoggy and so far they havent done a very good job at forecasting either

Yeah, I forgot about the weather deal, calling smog mist, funny.

They also took the news article off the web about the 13 year old girl.

I've got five bucks that says China will field "normal" kids in the "Special Olympics" to get more gold medals. If there is no accountability for the scam China is pulling off at these games, they should be barred from the 2012 games in London.

How is using young athletes to win medals worse than using anabolic steroids to win medals? Anyone?

Nobody was bitching when Carl Lewis was doping up and raking in the golds. What about Marion Jones? How about all those other countries?

grg51.typepad.com...

This is very hypocritical to call out the Chinese for using young athletes, while turning a blind eye to dopers. IMO doping is way worse than using young athletes.

Plenty of people freaked out when those examples were found of improper conduct. The Chinese have been going through quite a parade of hoops to pull the wool over and save face.

That was then, and this is now.
Because of the public awareness raised by the past cheaters, it is less excusable today to cheat or deceive.

Things have just gotten started and we're already having this much controversy? I have a feeling that things are gonna get much more exciting in the days to come.

Dude, you have got to be kidding me! Athletes get tested every single day for doping, some blood samples are kept for months and years afterwards. I think what most are complaining of on this thread is the outright blatant cheating on China's part. In November of 2007 she's 13 and 10 months later she's 16?

Cheating is cheating! Marion Jones has been publicly disgraced and stripped of her medals (and accomplishments) and is facing prison time for her role. SHE cheated, America did not cheat on her behalf!

I feel for the athletes that were cheated as a result of her crime. Those kids NEVER got the chance to stand on the podium and receive the acknowledgement for their accomplishments. Marion stood on the podium and held her hand over her heart while the National Anthem played in her honor, where's the honor in that? IMHO, there should be a medal ceremony for anyone cheated out of their medal, and the offender should be the one putting that medal around the true winners' neck. The offender should have to look the true winner in the eye!

No, I am not kidding. How is what China is doing worse than anyone else? How is doping not blatant?

So they're lying about their ages. How many people lie about their age every day to buy cigs, booze, get into R rated movies? No big deal. Wouldn't be able to beat them anyway even if they did use their 16 year olds.

Uhh..what?? This is the Olympics, nothing to do with any of those things you mentioned. And yes, cheating in the Olympics is a big deal. Both doping and having underage athletes are both equal offenses because they are against the rules. Wouldn't be able to beat them anyway? So just to hell with the rules? That's a great attitude.

Nobody is doubting this?

I don't think we can. The commie government removed the news article.
Some one may come up with it, who knows now, right.
