Converting gas-powered cars to electric

www.cnn.com

ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) -- Larry Horsley loves that he doesn't buy much gas, even though he drives his '95 Chevy S-10 back and forth to work each day.

Larry Horsley's pickup has a set of neatly arranged electronics where his engine once was.

Horsley, a self-described do-it-yourselfer, simply plugs his truck into an electric wall outlet in his outlet in his Douglasville, Georgia, garage and charges it overnight, instead of buying gasoline refined from mostly imported oil.

We are in the middle of a revolution! Like it or not we are all part of history in the making. In the past humans have had an Agricultural Revolution, the Industrial Revolution and now the Green Revolution (or is it a Technical Revolution?).

This is an exciting time to be on Earth! Every day there is a new invention or a break through in clean, green technology. More and more "average" people people are jumping on board.

Yes, I know plugin electric cars are still using coal fired electricity most of the time, but it is still a step in the right direction.

With so much negative stuff going on in the world I think it is good to stop and remind ourselves of all the good that is still out there.

Larry is just one more guy that 10 years ago probably would have laughed at the suggestion of converting his car, but now out of necessity people are becoming more imaginative and taking matters into their own hands.

Welcome to the new Revolution!
