this is just an amazing video, watch it and say wow.

www.youtube.com...

This amazing waterfall art piece is located in the Canal City shopping center in Fukuoka. I don’t think I have ever seen anything like it. It starts getting really good about the 4 minute mark. Canal City is a shopping center modeled after American shopping centers. You can find anything from stores and restaurants to movie theaters in the complex.

i hope i didnt break any rules by posting this quote from the XORSTYST site.

I imagine it works just like a printer, except it's water droplets. I don't really know how it works, but I imagine it's a long reservoir of water with either a closed loop that recycles the water or has a hose feeding new water in, or a combination of both. There must be some sort of panel underneath it that has many small pinholes that can be programed to open by a computer in a specific order. Pinhole opens, water droplet falls. Make a huge program that opens the pinholes in a specific order, like making ASCII art from the bottom up, line by line, and I think it'd work.

Just imagine that instead of the water falling down that it's a piece of paper falling from the sky and it's a printer, it might make more sense.

I just shared with with my boyfriend.

I was absolutely amazed, and he's all casual like "oh yeah, same principle behind the dot matrix printer".

Excellent video - totally brightened my day! Thanks!

I suppose it does work like a printer, still it's a cool video.

I wonder if this could be hooked up to a dvd player and have it play a whole movie.
I am sure the dropplets could be adjusted to drop as needed.
