Unidentified object over New york

It's a helicopter. It can be made out if one stops the video at the right place (avoiding the shaky focusing). I'm in NYC (northern Manhattan) and those things are up there virtually every single clear day -- for traffic and NYPD surveillance.

IMHO, is not a helicopter (I don't see any navigational lights, and the shape is odd for a helicopter.....yes, even the weird looking ones too). It is not a balloon either, like someone already mentioned, this thing seems to be hovering.

At first I thought it was a parachute but then it took some weird angles (despite the camera moving so much), then if you watch closely towards the end, what I thought was a parachute turns upside-down (so if it was a parachute this guy would've been in a world of hurt right there). So, I am assessing this to be an Unidentified Flying Object until further convincing prove.

balloons? parachute?! helicopter?! you're not serious, are you guys? i don't know what it is either, but it looks like some UFO that's losing control and recovering... possibly from our radar in the area..

Looks like a crab shaped baloon they sell at the local grocery story.

Ive seen these several places and with wind blowing around, it wouldn't amaze me if it was twisted around.

People always say this but it s not necessarily the case.

I agree with IAttackPeople. It does seem to move like a balloon in my humble, but experienced opinion. Here in Albuquerque, we see a LOT of balloons. True, the manned balloons can control their up and down, but they drift along like any other balloon aside from that.

It disappoints me when humans are so easy to fool.

I do believe in extraterrestrial life and their visits to earth but this video could be absolutely anything.

The fact that it appears to remain in place for a bit doesn't tell us anything. The clouds are remaining in place too. And both of them can only react to winds aloft...not winds on the ground. Winds on the ground can be doing something completely different than winds aloft. And they can be affected by temperature changes, wind shears and all kinds of other things.

Hasn't anyone ever seen a garbage bag get caught up in the wind and marvel at how long it stays up in the air tumbling and rolling?

As a matter of fact, I've often thought of hoaxing something like this myself just to see how many people swear on a stack of Bibles that it was absolutely from outer space. Like I said, I do believe in alien visitation, but we've got to be more discriminating in our decisions to label something "extraterrestrial". It just makes sense. Otherwise we all continue to look like a bevy of boobs.

I would encourage you not to jump to conclusions. And, whatever you do, NEVER start a sentence with the word, "Dude".

Seriously though, I have seen something like this before and even chased it in an airplane. The story is long and boring, but it turned out to be balloons tied together on a long string. Our local car dealers regularly will but helium balloons on banners and strings to attract attention and I am quite sure that they lose a few of them. I have seen several UFO videos that I am sure are these balloons

Congratulation you managed to take a blurry shaky image of
a feeble attempt at making a Heart shaped balloon to impress
someone.

It would have cost whoever a pretty penny though.

Is this guy having a seizure or what?! a monky can hold a camera stiller than that. All the shaking is probably so we cant get a clear view.

if i had a flying saucer and wanted to fly it around people..
i'd have inflatable balloons on the outside that would inflate and surround me
so that threads like this happen.

or no.. i'd have blinking lights on it that would blink exactly like an airplane, so i could cruise around slowly at night without people giving it a second tohught that it was just a plane.

or no..
i'd have jets that would spray clouds around it.

i wonder if these incredibly difficult ideas to come up with , as i just have..have never, in the entire history of all strategic designing ever been thought of.

of course they haven't been thought of.

because they're incredibly complex and absurd ideas..

absurd ideas that would work perfectly.

they couldn't have ever been thought of... EVER.

nobody would EVER in all history , camouflage a spacecraft in a cloud, airplane, or balloons.
it's impossible for people to think that up, even if it worked perfectly.

well i appreciate the attention this one is getting, but no one is mentioning the light it shows toward the end, and yes as you are saying, it just bends in some weird shapes....
