I thought I would bring this to the attention of fellow ATSers. A strong radio signal has been detected emanating from the center of our galaxy. Keep in mind there ARE extremely rare naturally occurring events which can cause the emission of radio signals, but one strong enough to be detected at this range (if a natural event) would be incredibly unusual.

Wow, I just saw a show the other night about radio signals in space, and what we have done to detect them, this is quite the news! Thanks for the post!

Good find. Wonder what the end result of this will be. Was it natural or...........?

Has SETI confirmed it yet? What am I kidding, he wouldn't say so if he did.

This is not significant...this particular college or university was able to pick up a signal from beyond the solar system for the first time, so what? SETI has been doing this for years and years. This is a breakthrough for them only.
