Yay!! Haggis an custard at Agent T's house....yum!

Seriously, I'm glad it's not a major problem, although I will be upset if I've lost some of my favourite u2u's...serves me right for not cutting and pasting them somewhere else....

And I'm dead impressed that ATS is now so portable...I got kinda panicky today when I couldn't get on.

Cait

Hi there, how do you cut and paste them? Ive tryed but it never seems to work.

I hope you are well Caitlinfae, you sound as if you are! Sounding very Scottish as always..
Nothing wrong in that.

i Have a feeling that the downtime and the u2u sysem crash has something to do with the people that are after me, i think because i started this thread
after about 20mins of me starting that the system crashed.
sorry guys, but there's not a lot i can do to stop them, whoever there are. from doing this.

just had a thought springer if you are looking for the route of this problem, start at me and see if it stems from people trying to hack into my account here, my u2u's
maybe you'll find something

Trekker, not to sound like a jerk, because I've barely read your thread, but I strongly doubt that the government has the time to hack someone and then trash their account on a conspiracy website.

That's just for starters, to add to it, if it was an agent, they wouldn't have to hack the site to get the content removed. It's just that simple. Don't be so paranoid huh?

if you new what i have had to put up with the last five years, you would understand my justification for my parania.

While that may be true, I will not change my stance on the matter. An agency wouldn't hack to retrieve data they don't want someone to have, at least not on a website, there are other MORE EFFECTIVE ways to do it. Aside from the matter, if they wanted their content gone, they obviously failed. See my logic?

no. you misunderstand, i think they hack my account to see what i had sent in MY U2U's.
to see if it is something they can use against me when the time comes

Fine and dandy, but then what does that have to do with the server crashing because of an overload from constant refresh? That sounds more like a move of someone who can not access and think their connection is bad than an agent looking for clues.

technically, not to sure on that but maybe they did one of them dos attacks to somehow crash it or slow it down so they could gain access somehow, i'm not a wizz on the computer so not sure how they would do it,
but your right , this does seem to have gone off topic, i was mearlly pointing out to springer, that if he is looking for the cause of it, he may find something if he was to start at my account, thats all

It's all good, but it isn't Springer who would be looking, it'd be SO. It sounds to me like there was a hang on data, not sure what would cause it to be honest, but I don't think it's a logical explanation to call it a hack attempt is all, or a DDOS attack, since they'd have to ping out several servers, it'd be a heavy duty job. ATS caters to thousands of people at once, the connection is dedicated to a lot, so DDOSing isn't likely.

I still say I done it.

It's ok Bill. I will fondly remember in my mind all the kind contact I have had with members. We will start anew. No! no no. Not the haggis again! No. I think I will meet my end with a haggis in the face.

it was a horrible morning yesterday not being able to log in for about 5 or 6 hours
i started to sweat and emailed a friend every 15 minutes to figure out if she was able to log in
and than i was scared that u2u systems was down - got some problems with my mac as well so - hail to paranoia - i thought the incidents might be connected, which couldn.t be true!

i have to confess i am ats addicted

@bill thanks for the wonderful work you are doing
when googleing a member name - no hint on ats appears which is fantastic
if you google member names of other boards you can read the entire posts
i am very grateful that it isn.t possible at ats

I think that having a website like ATS crash is a pretty funny thing to happen. How many members here had some form of paranoia kick in? We already have a few on here that think that it was directly due to someone being after them. Personally, I thought my work had finally caught on to my addiction and blocked the website.... I am sure there are MANY other people who had some sort of irrational fear induced from this.

Is there any way that we could find out the name of the user that caused the crash? I think it would be hilarious.... "August 10th 2008, the day that (insert member name here) crashed ATS".
