Iv been scouting China on google earth again and found this area, on the end of the runway are some fighter jets. at the other end there is what looks like an AWAC?

40°25'13.40"N 99°44'59.82"E

also if you zoom in here 40°25'42.24"N 99°43'15.68"E you will find something interesting.

Anybody any ideas what this place is?

Just looking north east is the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, maybe these 2 sites are connected?

ok...had a look, very interesting,

i think it is a base linked with their space program as the symbol in the middle, is the same as ones i have seen in other places that were to do with the program...

did you see the strange patterns in the desert just to the right of the airbase ????

many thanks for posting

after looking more close i followed the rail tracks from the base and they go all the way into the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, so the two sites must be connected.

yes iv looked all over the area and there are some strange patterns around, what looks like a simulated airfield to the east looks as though it maybe a fighter/bomber test range as there are craters around, also if you look to the NE end of the real runway there is some sort of underground area?

I have spent probably 10 minutes looking at this, trying to figure out what the hell it is.

40°25'44.87"N 99°50'51.02"E the area u refere too looks like an old military base what has burnt down, or then it is made to look like it, did u notice the ruins of buildings out side the area?, it is as same, i can be wrong too but the road looks well used, it can be an old rocket lunch site as well, Chinese are well known to have experimental rockets.....

Regards some one who knows things
