BREAKING NEWS:

Only hours after the Georgian side declared ceasefire in an official letter to the Russian government, sources in S. Ossetia report that Georgian forces have began to shell Tskhinvalli once again, and are seen remobilizing. NAPALM is being used by the Geogian side in the shelling. Fires are seen around the city.

This effectively ends the ceasefire. The Georgian side is attacking again after pledging not to, and Saakashvilli can no longer be trusted.

Saakashvilli is on the BBC now.

He failed to answer the question when the BBC asked him if "Georgia was defeated".

Some voices in the Georgian army have confirmed "there is no ceasefire".

MORE DEVELOPING NEWS:

Large explosions heard in S. Ossetia. Georgian artillery has resumed its operation despite declaring ceasefire.

Russian 58th army field commander has not received any confirmation of the ceasefire from Georgian government or commanders after establishing a hotline from S. Ossetia.

Major movement reported in Abkhazia, with most of Abkhazia militia fully mobilized near the Georgian border. Renewed fighting and explosions reported in Kodori Gorge.

Unconfirmed reports of new strikes against military airfield outside of Tbilisi.

BREAKING NEWS: (this could get interesting)

A person who appears to be a NATO mercenary has been captured by Russian forces in Zar village in S. Ossetia, together with a small Georgian force. He is reportedly being taken for questioning to Vladikavkaz.

Several dead mercenaries who appear to be from U.S. or NATO have been found in Tskhinvali. Several are reportedly black (African Americans?)- Georgia has no blacks in its army.

maloy, thank you for all of your informed updates. i have a question, with no malicious intent, that i would like to ask you.

since your sources are in russian and i have no frame of reference because i do not read russian, how would you rank that news source in terms of reliability on a scale of 1 to 5?

because this is some serious %#% that they are talking about there.
this is how very large wars get started.

Well Russian news agencies are the only ones who have reporters on the ground in the actual conflict zone, including Tskhinvalli. Reuters was reported to have one, but it is unknown if he/she is still in S. Ossetia.

Personally I am not one for trusting Russian news without questioning them first. But so far the majority of what they said has proved to true - and Russian sources report news several hours before Western media picks it up (I assume the Western media needs confirmation to avoid embarassment).

So far in this war I would rate their factual reporting as 4. Of course they add a biased opinion to the facts. If you just read the facts and not the opinions then you get an idea of what's going on. They are also reporting not just the Russian's point of view, but also what the Georgian government released.

However that last news source I posted from news.mail.ru - be cautious about it, it is questionable. I posted a disclaimer that it is unconfirmed and may prove false in another forum. So far none of the other Russian sources have picked it up.

UN coming out totally on Georgia's side . No condemnation of Georgia's part in it at all.

Well, they probably read western newspapers :

With a headline whose mendacity is egregious enough to make even the bbc's sycophantic fabrications for the US driven agenda look like the pinnacle of integrity and reverent wisdom.

The American was Alaskan, 2 of his party killed.

More americans caught in the bombing speaking on tv. These people wont be interviewed by the MSM for sure, I don't think they hold the preferred US opinion on Georgia anymore.

America invades Grenada to save 14 US students , but that is fine. Russia saves thousands and they are wrong.

Breaking news; The EU is doing a emergency summit over the war over Poland demand. But the meeting will only be on Wednesday, probably to give time for peace and to give time for the leaders to come back from the olympics.

Here

So they're gonna decide wheter or not to activate their armies? To say that Russia must get out of there with a deadline? Do nothing?

According to RussiaToday, yes, Foreign mercenaries are aiding Georgia. No identity of the nationalities yet.

Kokoity says that: “After the fighting in the city we found several bodies of citizens of the Baltic states and Ukraine. Later on I was informed that the bodies of several black men were found at the scene of a battle near school number 12. Kokoity said.

How exactly do you know if these reports are factual or even true. Nothing has been proven to be right as of yet, have you made a quick trip to Ossetia to check things out ? We all know just how controlled the Russian media is by the government, they will mouth anything Putin tells them to.
Anyway things seem to be coming to an end, a shame I was wanting to see just what Russia's military is made of. The failed Russian incursion into Chechnya and the Chechan extermination of the 131st Maikop Brigade

HAHAHAHA

An EU army. I'd like to see that. How long will it take them to get over the bickering? I bet longer than that "army" stays together.

Don't put much thought into these news.

EU will start out by writting a very angry letter to Kremlin (you will find this letter used as toilet paper in the bathroom). They will then start farting and yelling really loud - in a contest to see who can outyell and outfart one another. The Baltics will win of course - they are professional farters.

Then Russia will remind them where they get the gas to keep warm in the winter. Suddenly they will stop farting and go back to what they usually do - ponder life and philosophy and attempt to write an EU constitution which everyone will admire.

BREAKING NEWS:

Abkhaz government reports that Georgians are now massing troops on the border with Abkhazia. In excess of 4,000 Georgian troops is reported to have been mobilized to the region.

This may either mean that Georgia wants to insure that Kodori Gorge remains in their hands, or the idiots are actually planning to invade Abkhazia - in which case Georgia is royally screwed. 4,000 troops will do nothing against Abkhazia.

Lol, just more BS to give the Russians an excuse to keep on bombing Georgia. As well seeing as Abkhazia initiated a buildup along Georgia's border, it is only right that Georgia move forces to the region to disuade a Russian backed invasion from that area. Come on wake up and smell the cheese, lol.

How about this - come talk to me if Russian troops move into Georgian territory and occupy Tbilisi. I will admit my predictions were dead wrong.

Until then please post sources of your own if you want to denounce the news that I post and call them BS.

And the only thing that smells like cheese is the news from BBC and American news outlets. That and the rotten sludge Saakashvilli has for brains.

Since this event has begun I've had BBC News up almost constantly. Just shown was a report from BBC reporters on the boarder of South Ossetia who, along with their vehicles, were targeted by a Russian plane.

As an aside and on a personal note I find the actions of the Russians in Georgia both disheartening and disgusting. It is nothing more than a bully that feels it can discard the collective voices of the United Nations and do as it will. My thoughts go to the Georgians during this time of dire peril for their country and themselves.

Yes, I agree, disgusting. Georgia has every right to gun-down civilians in the street. The audacity of the Russians!

LATEST NEWS:

Georgian forces continue bombardment of Tskhinvali. No sign of any cease fire.

The picture of what happened in Tskhinvali on August 8 is becoming clearer. Georgians shelled and targeted civilian building directly and the Georgian air force conducted mulple strikes against the heavily populated regions of the city.

Russian peacekeepers were at first allowed to leave the area on the night of the 7th by Georgia, however as they were evacuating the wounded they were fired upon by Georgian artillery on Zarskay road.

Russian Channel One news is reporting that Georgian police is starting to round up Russian citizens in Tbilisi. An unconfirmed report of Georgian police and special forces cars stationed near the Russian embassy.

Medvedev has schedules a meeting with Sarkozy who will be representing the EU, in Moscow next week.

Medvedev has reiterated that the conditions of negotiations with Georgia are that Georgia ceases all combat actions immediately, and withdraws from South Ossetia.

In other news BBC, CNN and other Western media are still reporting of Georgian ceasefire, aparantly unaware (cough cough) of what is taking place. Either that or someone forgot to update their websites for the last 6 hours.

Do you want to see pictures taken in Tskhinvali today of civilians murdered by Georgians? I can show them to you but be warned - what is seen cannot be unseen.

Oh the poor Georgia. The little guy is always right. That what Hitler said when he attacked a much larger Russia in 1941.
