So there is a great problem with the argument about social services like Health Care.
It seems to be based on completely subjective issues. It usually goes like this.
1. Liberal : We need socialized health care so everyone can be taken care of
2. Conservative: Why take my money? Screw them deadbeats!
The problem here, is that from both sides, its emotional, and has no root in reality.
Here is the reality though. As a Capitalist who spent 100k last year in taxes, I want some of that to keep the poor and indigent healthy.
Why? For the same reason I want every driver to have liability insurance. It protects ME.
As a capitalist, I could really give two flips about other people. What I care about is ME and My Health. It is obvious to me that if we have sick
people runnin around without health care, they are going to be much more likely to spread diseases to ME!
Like I said. I want as healthy a public environment as I can afford. If we don't take care of the health care crisis, then it will surely effect us
all much like the housing and credit crises have.
So as a Capitalist, I say "TAKE CARE OF THE POOR! LEST THEY INFECT ME!"
Anything else is a denial of the truth.
