Yeah that's more like the thing.
Room for shoulder straps and a few pockets for little items.

Does it come in dayglo?

I'm not to sure...I suppose you could phone them up and ask them

If not you could get a nice dayglo jacket to go over the top over it, dont be suprised if people give you weird looks though!

Hmm, best webbing I've seen that might be worth a look is lancaster webbing or a chest rig/webbing.
Lancaster webbing seems to be off the scene now but webtex is good...

In the US, the best by far (especially for surplus) is
www.sportsmansguide.com

Search by category or quick search surplus and get a ton of results.

I do not know the shipping details but they commonly have bulk deals like 5 new swiss parkas for 15 dollars.

i would have posted this before but ive been a litel busy over the last few days... partys to attend on the weekend hangovers to cure etc... lolz

all the links where helpful thanx

i eventually went with

www.surplusandadventure.com...

didn't get a new backpack in the end. ill leave that for another day.

i ended up fixing up my old animal ski hydration pack.

its has a small 2 liter hydration container. (very useful)

but also several holes and rips. so i fixed them and added a few extra pockets where some of the holes were. now it has an extra outer zipped pocket and a water bottle holder.

i got the pockets from some cheap trousers that ripped last week... they where beyond repair but the zipped pockets.... very handy

its got nice chest strap and waist strap .. so it doesn't jiggle about when walking... or skating (good day pack for skateboarding road trips as u can fasten the board to the bag)

the board straps also are great for securing outer kit ... like coats etc.

now onto the bits n bobs i got

French Military 3-piece Aluminium Mess Tins... these r great ive used similar before great handles. and you get 3 in this set not 2 like all the outer mess tins i saw online. and for only 4 quid

Genuine British Army Individual Protection Kit (IPK)...£2.95!!!!!!!!!!

now this is a bargain. a nice n small portable and almost instant shelter... this will probably get taken on camping trips to make a shelter near the fire.. well roof anyway. and for fishing trips.

Stainless Steel KFS clip set. lost my old clip-together cutely set. great for eating where ever and includes a bottle opener... can never have 2 many of them.. i tend to wear them out fast ...lolz

Flexi-Cup www.bushtrader-uk.com...

these things look great haven't seen / used them before but they seem very useful so i got one and a t 2 quid i cant relay complain if it aint 2 good

swedish FireSteel Scout Model

im sure u have all seen these .. nice n small and a great bit of kit

lastly

Jack Pyke Knife Sharpening Stone

these things r so small they seem perfect for a sharpening solution in the feild .. it will probably like the firesteel stay in my bag a t all times.

unluckly i made my order then only after did i realize i left off

www.surplusandadventure.com...

this looks like a nice quality full tong knife at a very good price.

i need a new small full tong knife. and after reading many reviews for a cheap knife this seems like a good one.... but i forgot to order it... dam it... oh well ill have to just get it next time when im sure to order some more bits n bob's

Jericanman,
you won't go far wrong with the Frosts Mora knife. I have one in my BOB, one in my kit, one in my seperate survival kit...

Yeah they are cheap, but they are very VERY easy to keep razor sharp, and they are high carbon content and you can use the back to strike a good spark off a fire steel.

Got a small quick vid from me to show you how sharp they are. Just waiting for it to process in youtube.#

Here is the Mora and a fire steel in action.

Shaving some wood chips for the demo. The knife is beautiful to use, a real pleasure. I 100% would recommend one or three!

looks like its doing the job fine

ill have a search around for one on the web and have a look at the prices.

i think with most knifes its how u treat them and maintain them.

ive got one lockknife very small... possibly 1.5" blade that stays in my backpack. it keeps a nice edje, and it only cost 1 pound. it did require a bit of reworking of the sdge to get a better angle.

its amazing what u can do with some cheap things.

im going to post up my EDC (every day carry)

mostly mundane stuff but its interesting how much equipment i just have in pockets at any given time.

at the bare minimum i have 1 small razor flip blade, 1 gig micro usb, pen, hay fever medicine, that's all in my wallet!!! .. i never leave the house with out that.. mostly cus the front door auto locks and my key are attached to it.

then if i include my back pack or even a coat the list goes sky high with random stuff....like i even have spare Rizal tucked into the battery pack of my mobile because i noticed a slight recess. and of course there are some in my wallet for first back up.
hehe.

for survivalist smokers out there check out the Peanut lighter.

www.youtube.com...

that's the ultimate ultra small back up lighter.

in fact the countrycomm site has a lot of interesting stuff on it

ill post it up with some pictures. that way u can see my freshly pimped out bag with its new pockets

yeh that will have to wait till tomoz... it late and im a post'y ... dam urly mornings
