If God would ask you what is one thing in this world he could change at your request, what would that request be?

There is a thread about "If you can ask God 3 questions..." (LINK), but that thread just "asks" him for answers. I thought a thread about God telling you he would change just ONE thing is more telling about you.

Would you change yourself? Others? The environment or maybe politics? Your car? Your bank account? Your amputated leg? Your grand mothers eye sight? All starving children? That home run Joe robbed you of in college? That one night stand when you were 18 years old? etc..... I guess you could say it would be a wish, but I don't think it should be thought of like that. The reason is, I think a wish would lean more toward selfish reasons. A request or change can be looked upon as more broad reaching to help you and/or others. Ultimately, I want to see what people think more about, yourself or mankind. Please try to be honest.

I'll go first.....

Thinking of the (7 Deadly Sins), I'll pick one of those...GREED!!!!

I would ask God to rid mankind of Greed. I think that would help man ultimately be more friendly to one another. Many things create greed, money being one. Without greed, one could imagine all governments (politicians) would actually work towards fairness for all of mankind. Maybe no more wars? If there was no greed, I could just picture Earth a more friendly planet. Greed is one HUGE sin that could at least benefit us if we didn't have any.

Please just stick with what you would ask God to change.

I am probably close to yours on this one. If we could eliminate the need-desire to conquer and destroy anything we cant have. Eliminate the need for wars. If we weren't so hell bent on killing everyone that doesn't aggree with us, maybe we would have a little time to help our brothers and sisters and make the world a little better instead of just less populated.

I'd ask if all living creatures could be more fuel-efficient.

In some cases (humans particularly), hundreds or thousands of creatures have to die to keep one body alive.

Plus tons of fruit, vegetables and cereals need to be consumed.

So I'd like to see an end to the predator / prey situation.

A planet of fuel-efficient herbivores, topping up with solar energy would suit me.

If we had to consume a lot less to keep our bodies running it would solve so much misery in the world. Less hard work keeping livestock, fewer crops to grow. And no-one need starve.

Added bonus - less pollution too.

Both good answers Network Dude and Berenike. You as well as I, could name plenty of more that could be changed for the better. It's good to see the first two posts aren't selfish ones.

EDIT: "Thanks for sticking with just one request, even though each one opens many possibilities!!" Good Job!!!

You know, the first thing that came to my mind was kinda selfish. I thought of my mother and would ask God that she be here, watching my son grow up. But then I thought that no, she is no longer in pain.

Then I though peace and no disease for everyone... what a world that would be. But, knowing our race we'd probably screw it up.

I would ask God to take evil away forever. That in itself would solve all of our problems in my opinion.

Interesting question. Not sure it should be in "General Conspiracy" but hey ho.

Mine would be the inability for a being to enforce their will over another.

I wonder if he could make himself disappear forever and take all the religions along with him
This world would be so much better

haha That it would, but would that upset the balance between good and evil too much? I think the balance of the universe wouldn't allow that request to stay it's course. Something would happen. I guess you could say that any of our requests would have to be balanced out?

Good request though!!

I would ask for a universal election for a new god.
I'd say he's had his chance to be a better god for billions of years.
It is time for change we can believe in

Lecter and Jeroenske,

Those are 2 requests that I would have never thought of, but good ones. Either one of these 2 post might get some more replies about religion though.

lol

If God would ask you what is one thing in this world he could change at your request, what would that request be?

He (God) already asked this:

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

From a Biblical perspective, there is no need to make this a hypothetical, for God already laid out the conditions.

Thanks for the insight PreTrib, but what is your request of him? Like the other post, we all were able to give a request. Surely you would like to let us know?

I would ask God to make it so no animal on earth ever again suffers because of humans in anyway (abuse, land seizure, etc...).

but what is your request of him?

AND

Surely you would like to let us know?

Matt 6:5-6 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

I get (understand) your question to me.

The Bible says that whenever I ask something of God, according to His will, I will receive it.

The Bible ALSO says if we don't ASK, we won't receive (what IS freely given):

James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.

The REAL question is, "Why doesn't God answer (EVERYONE'S) prayer(s)?"

Answer:
James 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

What a great question!! My first thought was having my mother back.. i was happy to see i wasnt the only one that felt that way. Then i thought about how much i have grown and evolved just having been thru that experience.. and how it effects MY mothering..All of that has made me who i am now. . I feel that I am coming into my own finally. ( perhaps the answer to " why doesnt God answer all our prayers can be found right there..The "bigger picture" we cant see )

My request might be for everyone to be able to SEE the joy , beauty and simplicity in their life and embrace it. If we truly appreciated the small wonders around us.. maybe it would have a global impact?

Though I am an atheist, I do find this question interesting.

Assuming the Christian version of God to exist, I would ask for Him to create a third spiritual realm (Heaven and Hell being the first 2) similar to Heaven, but specifically for those who commit suicide out of despair and sadness.

I just don't see how sending a soul to Hell, a realm of eternal despair, is a just punishment for people who suffered to the point where they felt that suicide was the only way out.

I'm surprised this has only gotten 18 replies. It's a harmless thread that's intereting to watch what people would like to change about this world. There were 2 that their first impulse was about themselves, but ended up saying they would chose a broad request. It's ok to choose something for yourself, after all, it is YOUR one on one talk with God.

Still great posts by all. I find it hard to believe that with over 400 views that more people can't suggest something here that they find to be worthy of changing in this world.

Thanks for the replies so far. I think it's interesting to see how people would change the world.
