Right now, 1:03am.
Phone call from relative.
He is currently observing a ring of lights hovering and moving erratically in the southern sky, toward the zenith from whichever star is brightest right now.

Dogs are going crazy all across the countryside. The area is rural. He has AT LEAST TWO OTHer eye witnesses. He has been observing it for app. 20 mins.

If you know anyone in NE Ohio or NW Pa. have them look!!!!!

Another UFO was seen in the area eralier today.

Observation continues...
Witness says object is low and appears to spin- flashing red, blue and white lights in quick succession.

Appears to be canvassing or surveying the area. Witness is on a piece of high ground. UFO may be hovering near a Federal prison in Elkton, Ohio. Scale is incertain, but atmosphere and hints of a supporting unlit structure are see.

This thread will probably end up the same. We aere all kind of looking for a picture, or something better than the usual "story". No offense meant, but I need more than a fantastic story to believe that bigfoot is having tea and crumpets with the queen as we speak. Contact a mod. Probably already gave you a U2U.

i apologize for the confusion and lack of information. I am the witness of the reported ohio sighting "in progress" and i am going to give the entire episode in total and absolute detail.
I had been spending the day at the home of female friend with her sister, boyfriend and several other acquatiances at a home on Lusk Lock, Rd. 2 miles outside of Rogers, Oh, approx 15 miles from the county seat of Columbiana County in the town of Lisbon. At approx. 11pm the girl and her friends took some assoted psychotropics to which i declined the offer. We moved out side to the lawn where the "trippers" began to "play" with glowsticks and homemade raver toys. I sat on a lawn chair and watched the sky, while BSing about astronomy and astrophysics to an otherwise uninterested audience. Musing me, the boyfriend pointed out a strange, bright object in the sky hanging a little above the western horizon. It was around 12:20 am.
I noticed that the object was twinkling rapidly a series of lights that i distinuished as a red, blue and white. Further inspection revealed that the object was undulating, side to side slightly. Then it moved in a sweeping, semi-circular direction. It did this numerous times in spurts lasting from 30 seconds to several minutes and pausing, retaining the continuous undulating movement. The strangest motion it made were sudden and angled "jumps" either up or down. This was witnessed twice during the sighting.
It was soon after i sighted the object and noticed these odd characteristics that i was rather excited and got the attention of several of my company. Passively they looked and made little comment (and several denials and critcisms) except for one high-school friend who had watched it for several minutes but his attention could little hold under the influence of drugs and women.
I called a friend who had several ufo sightings in the past decade and he proceeded to tell me that he had witnessed strange lights over chester, wv, located in the extreme northern tip of the state, on the ohio river, approx 40 miles southwest of pittsburgh, pa acouple hours earlier. immediately after that phone call, i phoned my brother and kept him on the line for nearly 15 minutes of the sighting.
It was around 12:45am by this time and the object was closer now, and had repositioned in the northwest, much higher above the horizon than its initial position. By instruction of my brother i attempted to acquire a camera from the homes residence. The only camera available was a cheap digital camera owned by the 17-year old girl who lived there. I wasn't familiar with the camera, no one was available to help (rather they denied that i was seeing anything, couldn't distinguish exactly what i was looking at and refused to help set the camera to the necessary settings). I snapped three shots out of futility and returned the camera to the owner begging they not delete any unfamiliar pics.
It was in between my returning from inside the house to when I was attempting to use the camera that a second object appeared. When I initially saw it, it was positioned below the first object but obviously much lower in the atmosphere. It moved at a quick clip southwardly for about 20 seconds before darting out of view, beyond the horizon abruptly at incredible speed.
I returned the camera to the owner and went back outside. The time was approx 12:50am and the object had taken a new position closer to the horizon in the northwest. It moved slowly eastward until around 1am when it sped off in much the same way the second object I sighted had earlier, in a southeasterly direction and out of sight.
This (first) object, in my opinion was between 3 to 5 miles up. It was, speculatively, sphere-shaped because I noticed darkened portions above and below the lights, contrasting with the incredibly clear sky, unimpeded by little to no light pollution.
The pics were deleted by the girl the next morning believing them accidents.

Is this a joke? I can recall several less-than-realistic posters that are not only allowed to post thread after massive thread uninterrupted (WITHOUT ANY PICTURES, MIND YOU!), but they also gather ferocious followers that flame anyone that dare challenge the OP. Just saying it as I remember it.

Let them tell their story and stop whining your poor little heads off. For heaven's sake.

look, it doesn't really matter if you want to put people down about their experiences. maybe you should become a stand-up comic. but i did see this, i had extrenuating circumstances and a particularly hostile enviroment full of individuals that weren't about to let me bring some "heavy" stuff down on their buzz. REGARDLESS, my story is here, in detail and thats what matters. look at something else if this doesn't do it for you. belittling isn't encouraging dynamic discussion or respect.

I thought it would be of interest and I thought others in the region needed to be alerted.

So that's the rule? No account without pics? Becasue some pics of blurred still lights in the sky would make this sooooo much more credib;le, right?????????????????

I sincerely appreciate this. But I am 100 miles away. My brother lives on a big farm in the hills and without running down his female companion TOO much, the logistics of recoverring those files from that appalachian version of what passes for a PC are overwhelming.

My brothers companions have demonstrated their.... recklessness and lack of social graces in the deletion of the photos to begin with.

I suspect my brother's motivation for keeping some of the company he does is of a carnal nature. He is, after all, a young bachelor out in the woods.

I think the two of you need to calm down. You can't post a thread about going to the bank at lunch whithout someone here claimin "HOAX". The first thread was happening real time supposedly and therefore the inability to get pictures seemed quite impossible. Now that this has been explained, at least to me it makes sense. It sounds like an incredible sighting. Now seriously, you need to either grow a littel thicker skin, or find another forum. It won't get any better from here. There will always be the "know it alls" to be buzz killers. It's a shame you didn't have one of those new camera phones. Even an inconclusive pic would have shut up 90% of the whiners.

im not hard headed to the point that i need to see pictures. theres plenty of other pictures which can been seen in awesome ufo documentaries. in my personl UFOLOGY walk, im spending more time with testemony, getting to understand peoples storys and view points. i prefer to see testemony on film but a writen account is just as good in some respects.

Look, people tell stories all the time about the smallest of situations ( example, "while i was at the store i noticed this....") these believe it or not are testemonies.. on just about every tv channel you see them, what makes the UFO field so good at this particular time in our history is that people who are telling their testemonies are just normal people and ive seen plenty of "normal people testemonies" for just about every subject matter,

so when your story comes along i dont pretend to open my eyes that much further or listen with a super sonic ear for your stress frequencies looking for lies.. i just simply sit back and take it all in.

What makes you think I'm so excited? All the visual attention-seeking graphics I'm using?

This, to me, is adebate about the accepted standards of information flow. there is no reliable standard on this type of information and it has larger implications about information and crdibility.

What is worthy of reprting and how? We can demonstrate several aspects of our character and personl bevavioral history.

This account would score highly in a Hynek-Vallee-type credibility rating.

Yet, people are refusing to consider the account because of a lack of easy-reference credibility rating.

It should be a community standard. That way random userd would be prohibited from responding with random debunking statements that contribute nothing.

CRITICISM IS WELCOME. That means questions and prediction/hypotheses. Not IMO statements from idiots.

Now, I'm trying to see how this works. The MODS reacting to baseless criticism only further obscure the issue.

This should have all been addressed in ONE THREAD.

Now the flow is broken up and impossible for a new observer/reader to follow without a bunch of digging.

If you want people to be able to read the original post without digging, just put a link to it.

I personaly don't take eye witness testimony of aliens as proof, but pictures aren't 100% creditable either.

In fact the story does not mention any aliens to which I am glad, just a UFO, which is why I like this post. Although it would have been nice to have pics to look at and help figure out what the witness saw, perhaps the event was witnessed by someone else on ATS that can help clerify what this individual saw.

I think the guy and his "brother" are the same person. Same exact writing style, using big words for the sake of using big words.

Yeah, you're right. It's really unusual for two guys reared in the same household to have similar speech(writing) patterns.

What you're calling "big words," I call precision in communication. That's one of the difficulties with online communications; you lose all the intonation/body language, etc... so precise wording is really important in thsi type of format when one is attempting to express complex ideas.

For one thing, I didn't ask you to listen. I asked for my brother's story to be included in the thread that dealt with the sighting.

In case you didn't read the thread, I don't even know who the "girl" that deleted the pics is, all I know is that she lives out in the boondocks, and as for my brother, if the girl deleted the pics after he asked her not to, I find it hard to belive she's going to be interested in having him come into her house, install software and dig through her personal photographs.
