Mysterious Power Lines???

I live in Michigan, not to many Government facilities here; Atleast to my knowlege. My friend lives out in Melvin, his cousin told me that a powere\ line go's right into a clump of trees. On the other side no power line. This place is also out in the middle of No-Where. I have heard of this before. Huge powerl l ines goin straight into the ground. It make no sense!

It could be the power company doesn't have the "right of way" to that piece of land.
They do have underground power lines, these could just go down, and come up somewhere else.
I mean if you are leaning towards underghround facility, do a radius drive of about 2-5 miles. See if you see buildings with no sign or name but a lot of cars...then maybe. But I still think these just go underground cause the owner of the land didn't give them the right of way

I could just be that the lines go underground for a certain distance and then surfaces again. I've seen power lines that go go underground and surface back on the other side of a highway near my house instead of going above the highway. There are also warning signs along the side of the highway warning not to exavate along the sides of the highway because of underground power lines that go along the side of the highway.
