And let's see, fielding horrid phone calls and dealing with guys that are paranoid that we are going to send them stuff in the mail for staying at
our hotel.
I SOO don't miss that! I hated when people would call and ask to book a room, I'd ask for all their info and they'd be like "Why the heck do you
need all my information? You're NOT sending me anything in the mail. I don't want you selling my information!!" Its like "Woah lady, I need to
send you your confirmation letter, so either give me your damn address, or get an email address like the rest of civilization."
I used to hate when people would go to sign the check in form, and be like "What am I signing? Are you gonna rip me off now?" No buddy, I have
better things to do, like tend to the ten customers behind you, than try and think of fifteen different ways to rip you off. Sign the damn form so I
can give you your keys. Your signing for the room and saying you agree not to smoke in the room, and that you'll absorb all costs associated with
any damages to the room beyond normal wear and tear. IE. A broken Headboard. Thanks, move along.
Or what really made me mad was when they would call, and actually freak out at me for asking for their credit card number. One guy even tried to give
me his debit card number. "Well isn't that just as good?" No buddy, trust me, its not.
GAH. I so don't miss the Hotel Industry...
My old job is still up for grabs Wukky!
