A two-acre patch of land north of Fillmore heated up to 800 degrees Friday, and firefighters and geologists are unsure why.

By Joanna Lin, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer

August 5, 2008

A patch of land in Ventura County's Los Padres Forest where the ground heated up to 812 degrees Friday continues to puzzle firefighters and geologists after a month and a half of monitoring.

"It's a thermal anomaly," said Ron Oatman, spokesman for the Ventura County Fire Department.

Outstanding, this guy is a genius.
Mephistophiles is awakening in Oxnard and Ron Oatman is playing Sherlock Holmes with half a deck.

what in the world are you talking about and what does ron oatman have to do with Mephistophiles ?
as for the subject that is being discussed here if you take a look at where the san andreas fault line runs thru this part of the state it is very very close to the sespe creek area and the condor reserve which is where the event is actually occouring .
that is pretty scary stuff considering i live only 20 miles from fillmore.

It's a natural occurence not worthy of study since 1987. Oatman, a spokesperson for Ventura County Fire Dept. made a statement it's not a threat to public safety because the fire department is monitoring it. Then why does the director of Los Padres FireWatch, J. Kuyper say it's a disaster waiting to happen? I guess theories are good enough to explain things nowadays.

ok so there is free heat over two acres upto 800 degrees

Why the hell has some big arss steam generator been hooked up to the grid. Everyone is talking about green energy reduced carbon footprint etc. can get much greener that this surely

Wouldn't it just be related to volcanic subterranean seismic type heat?
And they are just worried about it starting the next huge disastrous forest fires?

In the article they said it maybe that an oil field has caught fire underground because cracks in the shale allowed oxygen in and it combusted under the pressure.

This could be one piece of the puzzle in explaining spirit lights or "earth lights" as they are sometimes called. The Marfa lights in texas is one great example. People see the anomalous lights so often that they actually have a highway turnoff viewing point for watching the lights which have been witnessed since the Air Force had a testing facility there in the forties. They could have something to do with faultlines and geologic activity also and since you have San Andreas right there.. Well it makes sense in a way.

Although the more bizarre aspects of the phenomenon are still unknown, I personally believe that they are naturally caused and we simply don't understand how the phenomenon works yet. Some people think it might be some kind of piezoelectricity that is created naturally.
en.wikipedia.org...
And, IMO, seeing how these same lights are seen worldwide at various locations proves that the headlight theory doesn't explain what people are seeing.

And the fact that the marfa lights have also been seen and photographed in all directions from the viewing area proves that they are not all car headlights or some kind of temperature inversion refracting the light coming from the car. Although in some cases they could very well be especially since people have seen these lights following cars (which would mean that it probably is just being created by the car lights themselves as the car moves down the road).

It could also have to do with underground reservoirs and types of rock in the underlying stratta because all of these factors would contribute to the overall geomagnetic anomaly at that location.

And as many paranormal researchers currently believe, geomagnetic anomalies, underground reservoirs, and limestone deposits can actually combine to create a location that has extremely active paranormal phenomenon going on. Sometimes even in situations where no catastrophic emotional event or killing has taken place there. The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park Colorado is a great example of a place with a remarkable level of paranormal activity while there has literally been no documented murders or any other negative events at that location. And some paranormal researchers (like the Atlantic Paranormal Society or TAPS) say that the actual exposed ground beneath the hotel will spike an EMF gauge.

There are also theories involving geomagnetic flux at specific locations around the world and how these locations have, at some point in human history, become sites of importance like temples, shrines, graveyards, etc.. Places like stonehenge. Which is bizarre in and of itself.

And then you have plasma orbs which have been videotaped and photographed all over the world.. They are too large and too slow to be explained by ball lightning. Yet in many of the videos of these orbs the objects all have very specific attributes..Proving that something is creating this phenomenon globally.

Some examples..

This one is a little short, but notice the similarity.
