Former FBI Official: After 9/11, White House Told FBI To Blame Anthrax Attacks On Al Qaeda

thinkprogress.org

After the Oct. 5, 2001, death from anthrax exposure of Sun photo editor Robert Stevens, Mueller was “beaten up” during President Bush’s morning intelligence briefings for not producing proof the killer spores were the handiwork of terrorist mastermind Osama Bin Laden, according to a former aide.

“They really wanted to blame somebody in the Middle East,” the retired senior FBI official told The News.

Everyone knows our media only tells what they want us to hear, this is why I only get my news here at ATS, I don't need propaganda just facts.

Americans are numb and in shock ,there are those who are so frightened to
accept the truth they don't want to hear about it .When confronted with it they use all manner of illogical excuses to not believe it.

[sarcasm]Clearly the White House must have had access to other sources of information, that made them aware that the attacks were of Middle Eastern origin! Foreign intelligence, NSA sources, etc., perhaps? Sensitive stuff! So sensitive, in fact, that they couldn't even reveal the source of their certainty to the FBI, for fear that secret intelligence techniques would be compromised! At least they did the FBI the service of saying, essentially, "look guys, we know it was from the Middle East -- look there", instead of making up some bogus story![/sarcasm]

So, what was the latest suspect's Middle East connection, again? (cough)

Who ever thought that the anthrax "attacks" (seems like a stong word for this) had anything to do with Islamic terrorists or specifically Al Quaeda? In fact I don't recall it being attributed to them in any strong way at the time at all. It stinks of something else entirely since jihadists seem to prefer martyrdom and huge terrifying explosions in order to make a point. The act simply took advantage of an unfolding event. Sending germs in the mail would be seen as cowardly-- any terrorists on ATS want to comment?

Perhaps it was done under government orders to increase the level of fear and they decided to finally dispense with individuals on the inside. Then again it could simply be some right-winged, home-grown terrorist job done for the same reason. In any case it seems to be perpetrated with the intent to suggest a particular group by way of temporal associations.
