Apparently as you can see from the link, bebo are giving us the chance to create a message for outer space. The judges at bebo will pick the best 500 and send them into outer space. passing our moon in 1.7 seconds and out of our solar system within 7 hours.

Anyone going to do this, maybe we could post out own messages right here to see what type of message the ATS community would come out with.

Personally i'd ask about medicine and how advanced they are with curing viruses and other diseases.

I'd ask if they had an exchange program.

If they did I'd like to be on the list, if not...they should start one.

Anything you send by any kind of wireless technology leaves the earth for outer space. It'll probably be too weak to get very far, but this is space we're talking about. This bebo "a message from earth" won't make it more than a few dozen light years tops (at reasonably detectable strength). Maybe that's enough if there are aliens on the particular planet they're pointing it at, but otherwise, it won't get much meaningfully further than your cell phone's paltry few milliwatts.

Great idea, but see SentForever.com's website at www.sentforever.com as we have been transmitting people's personal messages into deep space since early 2008. Our messages will travel for the rest of eternity!

Do you mean us as in us or United States because the messages are being sent from the Ukraine.
Also, bebo is not exclusive to the United states, it is the most popular networking site in Ireland and the UK and has networks for a dozen other countries.



Its a good idea though, we'll still have to wait 40 years to hear if anyone replies.. that is of course if there is intelligent life on the planed it is being broadcasted to.
