Alec - Funny that you posted twice in response to my latest post. It looks as if you're lonely and have too much time on your hands. Sorry that I haven't been waiting here all day for you, some us are actually helping out with the WAR effort unlike you. Maybe someday you'll get from behind the cash register with your job.

I used to love this board, I could have nice discussions and learn a lot from others to expand my view and try to understand how things work in the world.

But now there are too many brainless Pro-US activists who are as violent as their enemy, the problem is they don't see that they behave just like the ones they are accusing. Instead of telling such useless stories you can better do some investigation to your government and see if they are telling the truth or not. I'm sure they are not ! Americans should wake up and see that our government is lying to us? hmmm...then what? cause i think most of us already know that even if we won't admit it.

of course I'm anti-anything that has to do with murder and the death of the innocents as well as the guilty (it's all relative).

i guess the point i'm getting as it that for the most part we aren't sleep. that's a falsehood. i don't know many folk around my way that buy into the propaganda our government uses to cover dead bodies with when, things as well as bombs, go astray.

it's useless to try to explain something like the bloody murder of children. it's the mind that has to cope. so you tell yourself...if they say it's necessary, then it must be necessary...and you go about your daily life trying to find a little happiness. it isn't that they have convinced you with facts or brainwashed you with fear. it's that all humans (and americans are humans) want things to be okay even when they are not. you can call it hiding from the truth, but it's just coping.

don't say we don't know or that we need to wake up. some of us need that dream state just to get by. not me, of course I'm cursed to care about that which i can never change, but after talking with many of my fellow americans i understand their crave for numbness. their not ignorant just dormant...

The Govt is lying about Iraq??? Iraq has used chemical weapons on its own people in the past. Are you that dumb to believe Saddam destroyed them on his own while not providing documention to the inspectors for over a decade that he did destroy them???

Oh....if you climb out of your hole today, you'll hear the UN inspectors have found illegal warheads for chemical warheads...in IRAQ.

first of all, i didn't say anything about Iraq...i was addressing the topic which i believe is Death Maths, described by the author of this discussion as the crude equations our goverment uses to dismiss so called "causalities of war"--then i went on to address those who appear to think americans are asleep about this.

second, since you wish to address the Iraq conflict i will appease you. if the inspectors found such weapons then i will say well done to those who pushed hard for inspections over war, i would have hated to see our brave men and women rush in to Bagdad and come up against such weapons unknowingly. that is why inspections are so important.

thirdly, Sadam used chemical weapons on the Kurds not his own people. kurdistan for those who don't know is a country that exist within three countries. Iraq, Turkey, and Iran. the kurds were at war with the Iraqi goverment at the time and we were friend to Sadam before and after he used these weapons on Kurdish people. i do believe that politicans use spin (lies), as evidence by what you stated in you own post. one sided and false as it is, this "he used these weapons on his own people" is repeated over and over again...saying something over and over again doesn't make it true.

lastly, i have no beef with you sir. i'm merely here to share my opinions. name calling is childish. if you address me again in such a manner don't expect a response.

Your premise is that the US Govt just lies about issues to the American people, so I knew you had screwed up views about Iraq.

The inspectors are nothing but a formality and it's shocking that they did find something in a country the size of Iraq. Oh, maybe the "US Govt" told them where to look...duh. Aren't they just liars?

As for the Kurds, they were living inside Iraq. The last time I checked we don't say Koreans living in the USA are not Americans. Just because the Kurds live on the fringe of Iraqi land and society doesn't mean they're not Iraqis.

As for demanding respect, you don't deserve it after reading your drivel here. I don't respect anyone with crazy views like what you show off here. I typically see such ranting about the US Govt and conspiracies from street bums standing on the corner in LA.

The US Govt is one of the most open, truthful Govts in the World. Democracies tend to be that way. Funny that the governments the left is defending (Iraq, North Korea) AREN'T open and truthful like the USA...

The Kurds in Iraq don't consider themselves Iraqi. They hope to become an independant nation. Thus, the civil war that has continued for decades (1956). So, while Korean-Americans embrace America, the Kurds seek to overthrow and escape Iraqi domination. they are basically terrorist.

There are to many unknowns to do the math. Right now we have only know about 11 Oxygen / Nitrogen / CO2 bombs, plus the US government says they know about a load of others but they won�t tell us what. Also Iraq seems to have no intention of attacking the US and certainly knows if it did that�d be game over.

At whitehouse.gov Bush made a statement on what he did when he heard the news. But on the video you clearly see something else. I think so. Posturing and power games.

He 'found Islam' just before the Gulf war, and proclaimed he was going to destroy Israel and the US, even launched a few scuds. This was a ploy to try and get radical Islam on his side for the war over Kuwait�s oil fields. But it's clearly a pile-o-crap. Sorry TC But North Korea stated to Destroy the world and menace Washington with a nuclear war. What about that ? They do have Nuke's so what's wrong with the picture here ? Like I said before, Iraq has to face war because they are weak, and have nothing serious to defend themself.

It's simple, Israel may kill Palestinians and take their land, (what promise land ? So religion may justify such thing ?) they don't care about UN resolutions and deny every kind of peace force in the region. So if US really want a peacefull world they'd start there. But I believe more and more that Israel does control US.

That is why Europe is so angry. Every comment on Israel is labeled as anti-semetic, they use heavy military force against civilians and no one help them or protect them. So they protect themself and then we complain. So try to understand that this world isn't fair no matter how you view it.

We in the US have a disease its called FREEDOM our government tries to fight it but even they cant. Everywhere we go we spread it. We carry it to the far reaches of the globe and the rest of the world is better for it. You say we should leave the people of Iraq alone to decide how they should be ruled......CRAP!.....they have made the decision to keep Saddam as their leader so they are complacent and just as much a threat to OUR way of life. When the shooting starts the citizens of Iraq can decide if they want to keep Saddam or seek the Freedom we bring. No one said freedom came at no price those civilians killed inadvertantly are just part of the cost.
