JonBenet's Father To Enter Politics in Michigan

Well, apparently, John Ramsey feels he's far enough away from Denver to run for office and win! He's gonna run for the Michigan House of Representatives, a well-paying part-time job in the Great Lakes State.

And, get this, he wants to do good works?!?!?????

"The father of slain child beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey is running for a seat in Michigan's Legislature.

John Ramsey, who has lived for years under a cloud of suspicion in the death of his daughter, told USA TODAY he is running for the Michigan House of Representatives because his family wants to put its notoriety to work for the public good.

"We've been talking for a number of years about what we are supposed to do with this unique platform we've been given," he said in an interview Monday. "I thought this is how I could really make a difference."

Ramsey, 60, will formally announce his candidacy today in Charlevoix, Mich., where his family has a summer home.

Ramsey, a Republican, is not the first to use family tragedy as a springboard. U.S. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy, D-N.Y., ran for Congress after her husband, Dennis, was killed by a gunman on the Long Island Rail Road in 1993. John Walsh, host of the Fox TV show America's Most Wanted, became active in missing-children cases after the slaying of his son, Adam, in 1981."

He lost, Maybe he wasn't promised a seat in the Michigan legislature as hush money for JonBenet!

CBS ran another story speculating that the JonBenet Ramsey case was done by an outside intruder. Saw the program, and the presentation was very slanted in favor of exonerating the parents.

Looks like JonBenet's dad may be running for public office AGAIN...

John Ramsey, the father of JonBenet Ramsey, is mulling another run for the state House. WWJ Lansing Bureau Chief Tim Skubick reports the seat is in House District 105, covering the Charlevoix area.

Ramsey lost by 500 votes in the 2004 primary election to Kevin Elsenheimer (R), who decided this week not to seek re-election, which prompted fellow state Republicans to ask Ramsey to consider another run.

Ramsey, who hasn't made up his mind yet, has a summer home in Charlevoix and has spent a lot of time there the past couple of years, reports Skubick. Ramsey made Michigan his full-time residence in 2003.

I don't know what to think about this, except that this is pretty sure to get the rumors going again about what happened to little JonBenet years ago :shk:
