Do aliens (assuming they exist) have souls? And are those souls the same as ours as humans?

Seems like any living creature requires a soul to animate the physical body so I have to think extra-terrestrials, whether they are grays, reptilians, mothmen, manbearpig, etc. have a soul of some kind.

But is being "human" a purely physical attribute or are our souls as humans unique?

I know this is pretty esoteric but I toss this idea around in my head a lot.

Yea well theres no way you can prove it is there either way lulz keep tossin it around maybe the true answer shall be unveiled!!

We can't even "prove" that we as humans have souls...I just want to see what other people think on the issue.

I'm undecided but I lean toward the idea that while all of our souls are different (individual energy/consciousness) I'm not sure it makes sense that there would be a division between souls of human individuals and those of extra-terrestrial races (assuming they exist).

I believe every life form needs a reason to exist and survive. That there is sentience in all living things. Whether this equates to a soul or not is an entirely different question.

There seems to be this unfounded belief amongst certain crowds that aliens don't have souls, perhaps because they are clones or whatever. I think such an assumption comes from religious conditioning whether the individual assuming as much is religious or not... it's latent because you must remember theres a widely held belief system pumped into our brains as children that proclaims that only 'god' gives people souls.

Therefore I can only assume by religious standards that if a 'being' is cloned, then he is not created by 'god' and thus is devoid of a soul. Quite obviously a bogus belief if ever there was one!

Humans are, by nature, egocentric. We've always put ourselves in the center of things. The Egytians thought Egypt was the center of the world. We thought the sun rotated around the Earth. Many still think that humans are the only life forms in the Galaxy, no - make that the Universe. The whole soul question is just an extension of that very same ignorance and arrogance IMHO.

For all we know rocks might have souls too!
I challenge any individual to disprove that hypothesis by any other means than faith (belief systems) or superstition.

We have no way to quantify the truth of the matter either way. No tangible data exists. Everything is just a guess or 'feeling' based on our personal bias.

I agree that a clone would have to have a soul. I don't see how the biological cells could live without the life that is provided by a persons energy/soul. A robot doesn't need a soul (obviously) but if they are clones of living beings then they are living beings and therefore must have a soul/energy.

I am personally not religious and I don't believe that there is anything higher than our individual energy/souls (that includes any kind of "god" which in my mind would just be another soul that happens to have fooled many people into voluntary subservience/worship).

But my original questions is this: do you think an ET soul is different than a human soul?

For instance, I'm sure many people think that dogs have different souls (if any at all) than humans. I don't see why. But you see there seems to be a tendency to think that other species on this planet either don't have souls or their souls are not the same. So does that same thought process apply to other species that happen to be humanoid?

intersting theory, what if also the aliens are souls without bodies and survive just as that, and possibly explaining how they move or cannot be seen so easily, you know

interesting but hard to discuss when aliens themselves are still an unproven 100% as fact

good post though as right to the point it is

My soul is no different than any other animal/insect/reptile ect. on earth. So why would an aliens be? This is of course if we actually do have souls which imo is kinda mumbo jumbo religous stuff.

Our brains control us not our "souls" when we die we cease to exists as our brain can no longer function, I don't believe our souls magically rise out of our bodies and go to heaven or hell. Just seems illogical in the way of nature and science, all things must come to an end, nothing is forever. Entropy makes sure of this...

Hopefully I don't affend any religous people
even though I get a kick outa it when I do.

If souls are real, which I hope they are, then I don't see why aliens wouldn't have souls too.

I don't see soul as something that matter creates or something that one could own and stick in their pockets. I see it the other way around, that we are soul or god or tao or whatever a person prefers to call life force. And so everything being alive would be as you call it soul. What could be out of life or soul? Even a snail or a rock is alive.

I'm pretty sure every living thing has a soul or a spirit.
I think when something dies it's not just dead is dead, because there is a such thing as real ghosts.

My question is why do ghosts wear clothes instead of being naked?

This is a very tough question to ask especially if you just wonder if humans really have souls. I think this "soul" is no more than a form of energy that we as humans can not comprehend at the moment. I believe this energy can be controlled at psychological stage that we have yet to unlock.

That's just my opinion.

that is a funny question and i was reading somewhere that the theory is that ghosts are people caught in between and they see themselves with clothes on and because they are really only thought patterns projected into this dimension and don't have a body anymore... you see what they imagine themselves as. hope that makes sense ?

reply to the op...

now as far as aliens having souls ? that is a long discussion because there are way too many variables to determine an unknown.

two theories i am tinkering with are :

#1- the Grey's don't have a soul and are creating hybrids so they can know what God is.

#2-the Grey's are working for, or are from Satan to help with the effort to dilute the gene pool , wich would make it like the day's of Noah when the Nephilim diluted the human DNA.

www.youtube.com...

it is possible that aliens from another planet or solar system have souls also
