Bigfoot: My Strange Theory

I’ve always been interested in the mystery of Bigfoot. It certainly seems possible for a large primate to survive in the remote wilderness regions of the world. I find it hard to believe that all the sightings were simply miss identifications, attention seekers, or outright hoaxers. Much like the UFO phenomenon, there have been too many credible witnesses to simply dismiss the subject as fantasy.
The main problem is no hard physical evidence, specifically, no body.

This is where my theory comes in, and it certainly requires an open mind.

Could Bigfoot sightings be the ghosts of ancient man?
If you believe in ghosts, and the many accounts of ghost sightings, its not that far fetched of a theory. People have witnessed ghosts from many different eras, from civil war soldiers to medieval castle haunts.
So how far back do these ghosts really go in time? Why not all the way back to ancient man? The reports are often similar, they see the ghost, it does not bother them, but when noticed often walks away and disappears. The Bigfoot sightings sound very similar. The beast is seen, he walks away and is gone. Its much easier to believe a Bigfoot can just loose you in the expanse of the forest, but maybe it simply walked into nothing and was gone.
Ghosts are known to open and shut doors, leave hand imprints and touch people. Yet of course no body of the ghost is ever found, its appearing from another dimension. Bigfoot may leave prints and rustle some leaves, but then is gone as quickly as it appears.

Hmmm, it is strange indeed, but I don't put anything past this world.

I always thought that if the Sasquatch existed, it (like many other species) has found a way to hide the deceased for the sake of self-preservation. Either that, or it is possible they consume the dead.. (???)

Burial is something practiced by other animals, and its not like we go digging around in the woods a lot, so I think its possible.

Interesting theory, I'm just sticking to the more organic idea.

The only problem I have with the idea that they quickly bury their dead or even eat them, is that Bigfoot sighting are often of a lone creature, seldom in a group. One would have been hit by a car, or at the least died of natural causes and be found before its "clan" came looking for it. So although that may be the case, it couldn't possibly account for every creature.

Thanks bugs-n-recovery!
I figured I would get more feedback on this theory because it combines two great mysteries that could very well be the same.

I'm more inclined to believe that Bigfoot is the spirit of Gigantipithicus than a Caveman honestly. The features we do get from pics, vids, and eyewitness descriptions don't match what the bones tell us about how ancient man would have looked.
As for ghosts of ancients... I remember the story of a Professor in England i think who said he was driving one night and saw a primitive looking man with a horse chasing his car. The ghost followed him a bit, and then vanished, near where the proffessor suspects the man was buried. Read the stroy a while ago, dunno how true it is.

I believe that bigfoot is Gigantipithicus, and that we are related to him. If Bigfoot still lives, he is most certainly Gigantipithicus.

Thats a very interesting story of the professor, do you have a link to this story?

Hmm, I have to go with santa on this one, Sometimes animals bury themselves but im pretty sure bears bury themselves if im not mistaken? why couldnt sasquatch do it? Ontop of that im pretty sure if i was a bigfoot I would bury myself to, I wouldnt want to look down on my corpse from sasquatch heaven and see the wild life narfing my genitailia up like golden coral chicken wings :O

I find this thought of yours interesting! it caught my eye in the first few sentances I read, I think I used to ponder this when I was watching Animal X haha, really little then. It had the Devil dog episode right infront of the bigfoot one, so it got me thinking if bigfoot could have ghosts or something like that. Never occured to me that they could be ghosts!

No, sorry. I read it in a book of true ghost stories, and it was a while ago, back when I first got started with the paranormal. I don't remember the book it was printed in at this point.

There has been a similar kind of theory floating around for a while that a lot of the "paranormal" stuff in the world could be a result of a similar process. We don't know for sure what that process is, but it might have something to do with the way our consciousness interacts with and structures our reality.

What is a ghost, anyway? A kind of a structured and coherent energy field that is able to interact with us and its environment in limited ways. They appear and vanish, usually leaving few if any traces. A UFO does the same thing, as well as other mythical creatures like sea or lake monsters, dragons, and humanoid creatures like leprechauns, trolls, demons (although demons are generally pretty non-corporeal), fairies, and the like.

Since space and time are not as rigid as they appear to us in our normal lives, there may be some way that our minds interact with spacetime on a quantum level that allows us to be able to see and actually physically manifest some of these odd things in the world. Or spacetime itself might have a natural degree of permeability that allows relatively large objects or energy fields to bounce around relatively freely. Hard to say.

One possible experiment might be to go to an area where there are a lot of Bigfoot sightings and bring a large Van DeGraff type power generator. Along with that, bring along some spirit boards or OUIJA boards, which are good at getting people to alter their attitudes, generate what for lack of a better phrase might be called "psychic energy," and focus their intentions on manifesting something. Out in the woods, away from people, there would probably be less chance of ghosts appearing, but maybe you could get a Bigfoot to show up. Or UFOs or leprechauns or something equally interesting.

Be sure to have several different types of film or video recorders available to get some evidence.

I'll agree your theory is a ways out there...but what the hey. I do disagree with your statement that there is no substantial physical evidence.

Google "skookum cast". while most of the evidence is anecdotal, there is physical evidence that points most definitively to a great big honkin' something stompin' around the woods.
