Hmm I know their pop culture side of culture mimicks that of America's right now in many ways but where do you get off on classifying the entire society as superficial and conformist

For starters, take a look at their overbearing school system, then observe their obsession with success and looking like the white man. Blond hair dye and eyelid surgery anyone?

Seriously, I really like the japanese, don't hate on them!

They are a little different but...they love geek culture which is a huge plus, they dig us mostly which nowadays is a rare commodity in the world, i think they are the best looking of asian women

and well, they seem to like alot of stuff I do... I was goofing on this post but, it is kind of cool their leaders are open about aliens and the people are into searching for aline life... they are bright, what else can I say

WTF man, what have you got against Japan? Japan is easily a better country then America anyway......who are more peaceful and just plain nicer? The Japanese. Which country is safer to live in? Japan – I rest my case!

I really do not see what's so great about Japan.

Have you heard of WWII? They weren't so peaceful then, were they? And after WWII, the Allied Powers occupied Japan until 1952, preventing them from building up another military. This allowed for Japan to focus less on conquering the world and more on developing new ways to draw Tentacle Rape porn. If it wasn't for the Allied Powers, then Japan wouldn't be what it is today. Moreover, Japan will never have to waste too much money on their military because of countries like the U.S.A., who would step in at a moment's notice to protect them from an invading country. This gives them more time and money to focus on what's more important, like uh, Final Fantasy.

Can you guy's at least one time stay on topic? The guy is talking about aliens visiting Japan, not about WWII, not about Manga Comics and so on.

Japanese have very futuristic cities and so many lights in Tokyo that aliens just cant miss it!

yeesh, even the slightest suggestion that america is not the absolute best at everything gets people riled up, weird.

i somehow doubt that anyone in their right mind would travel half way across the galaxy and give a crap which country they land in. if your traversing over such large distances earth has got to look like some small hick town barely worth stopping to see, and if they do stop by, on their way to somewhere else, picking one country over another would probably be a pretty arbitrary decision.

if anything the choice would probably be based on which climate nearest resembles their own, which half of the world is in day at the time and which place has inhabitants least likely to be hostile.

that hostility thing makes the US seem an unlikely choice from my perspective, so many armed people ready to shoot you for suggesting americans aren't the superior life form in the universe, or because they think your a demon and armageddon has finally arrived, or because they think you want to invade, or because they think your an illegal up from mexico or any number of stupid and/or insane ideas.

another thought i've just had, i wonder how many aliens could fit on the head of a pin.

My opinion:

I think the Aliens would come back to Japan to pickup their long lost cousin Godzilla, and possibly his relative, Rodan.

They would need a really large ship for occupants of that size.
