I keep thinking. Wouldn't it be good if we became one world, with no countrys, One massive community, there would be no wars, as we would all be equals. All following the same rules.
There wouldn't be one person in charge. It would all be a democracy. The earth would be divided up into like, 10 sections, each section would be like how the UK has county's, and the USA has states. Each 'ZONE' then nominates 1 person, then the 10 people all run the earth, and they do things and they have to agree on things, that would be to make sure it could never become a dictatorship!

Earth would be united, everyone would have to chip in to help places like Africa to make sure they are just the same (well off and economy) as America and the UK!
There would be no need for border lines, or passports, as everyone would just be travelling round their own world, not travelling from their country to another one.

What do you think?

the one world is a great idea, i dont beleive in nations, patriotism, etc, i have even denaturalize from my own country , i am nationless right now.

the problem is that the people who are trying to make the ONE WORLD, are doing it for wrong and evil reasons [- N.W.O -]

I am not an Athenian or a Greek, but a citizen of the world.
--Socrates

but i do believe in individualism, and i dont think we all should be equal and believe the same religion or same stuff,.

The Problem with one world is --
Resources - every human wants to live the best that he can provide for himself and his family.
if every human did this then you would have to accept living on 2$ a day
with very little input from modern science ....
everyone would basically, live like a chinese peasant.

What you are describing in your thread has been written in form of a book called:
Planethood- The Key to Your Future by Keyes, Jr, Ken.
1-reduce your tax burden
2- Create world wide prosperity
3- Eliminate international wars
4- Rescue the environment
5- Stop terrorist and hostaging
6-preserve liberty and freedom
7-and so on.
I like this book but many people think it is utopian.

Surley most jobs would carry on how they are now! Just because it becomes one world does mean people will have to get new Jobs etc. New Jobs will have to be made. Also there would be no business competition between country's as there wouldn't be country's, which then means that we wouldn't have to destroy new rainforests and just things like that would be better!

I used to think like you did, but I realised we are already one world. What we need is just to get rid of as much government and military as we can, reinforce local governance at the village level but at the same time keep our global telecoms infrastructure and reduce the importance of big business and do away with IP. We need to reinforce ourselves locally while communicating globally. We do not need or should even want one world governance.

Then we have a chance at a one world utopia. But people have to think for themselves and not herd around false prophets and misleading ideology.

What we need is local governance and global freedom. The ability to go anywhere and talk to anyone, yet keep our leaders close enough so we can hold them accountable and indeed replace them if need be.

An elitist one world will be a nightmare worse than feudalism was. A free one world where we get our priorities sorted could bring us back to forgotten utopias and yet give us freedom to travel the globe.

In itself, the concept is brilliant. If human kind wasn't so greedy and power hungry, it would probably work.

So it is doomed to fail unless something changes

Watch how the US is run and the "democracy" is manipulated to suit the "big money" interests. Bush already has the US ready to become a dictatorship by manipulation, murder, fear and the passing of a few amendments.

Imagine how bad this could get on a global scale.

All totalitarian systems in the past have always either failed or become dictatorships that have cost huge amount of lives for whatever reasons.

It does look like this Global economy, government thing is likely...i really hope it will not be in mine or my childrens lifetimes.

Have a look at this, a long thread but worth reading. If you believe this guy (and I do) then people in powerful places are trying to do just as you suggest, working towards a new earth with no borders or countries, no wars or revolting moraly corrupt 'owners', if the greedy elite didn't have most of the worlds money there would be no need for anyone to starve or go short of anything.

The idea is to use technology for the benefit of all so we don't have to revert to a more basic lifestyle as some think.

Link to thread

We are changing and it is that change that will make it happen.

I agree in principle with the concept of a borderless world, but fear major problems in its practice or implementation.
For example, where I live in Canada - in my actual "neighborhood" there are immigrants from around the globe. They have their own little stores with their regional foodstuffs, music; etc. and I find that enriches my life immensely. I love living in this diverse environment.
On the other hand, the good old USA is just across the border, and I am thankful that border is there. It keeps out or slows down the transfer of violent crimes, guns and prejudices that so typify that society from coming over here. I would be very afraid if that border wasn't there and protected in some fashion. I know this sounds like I am talking out of both sides of my mouth, but it is the truth. There are cultural values that get protected, somewhat, by borders. I think that is a good thing generally.
The biggest risk with the whole world coming under one centralized government would have to be the bureaucracy. Look at the EU and multiply that Xfold. The power hungry idiots that gravitate to government would be even more isolated from the common man, and from common sense than we see in our current big governments. Someone needs to come up with a solution to ensuring (or perhaps returning) the power to individuals and smaller communities against such a huge and unwieldy government body and ever bigger business. This would help ensure that regional or local identity, culture, customs and differences survive and even develop within the larger reality.
