(New York, NY, USA) The Need For Official Pronouncements (NFO, the "P" was never determined to be "hard evidence") today offically closed their membership files at UFO Skeptics® stating through spokesman Iam Hoaxe, "We keep getting the same response to actual sightings from our members that date back to "The Battle of Los Angeles in '42, or so." (Reference) en.wikipedia.org...

"I am saddened that our membership grew old and could not teach new diversionary methods to all these, well..., non-existent and irrelevent...," his voice trailing away as he wiped alleged moisture from his one remaining eye.

"The recent Mitchell announcement (Ref: uk.youtube.com...) basically sealed the deal. It actually appeared on one of the major news networks, " he shouted at reporters covering the final press conference in their Tribeca office. "We were given assurances..."

As Director Hoaxe left the meeting room he abruptly turned to Roeters journalist E. Be Krlll who had written a scathing expose published on the Internet 8 days prior and extended his left index finger within six inches of Krlll's face.

"You, mister. It's your ego that you write for!"

The office and all contents are reported on their official website to have been "returned according to our contract."

Is there a link somewhere to this "official" announcement?

I had a good laugh reading that though

Good. It doesn't exist. Just like, "I need to see the evidence."

Be well!

Looks like somebody is getting a little frustrated with skeptics. But skeptics are actually the easiest people in the world to get rid of. Just show us some good proof.

Proof is like garlic and crucifixes to skeptics.

Asking for proof of a superior alien civilization is like asking for proof of god. Or if you prefer another analogy, it's like spitting in the wind. Unless said civilization, here hypothetically behind the UFO phenomenon, wants us to have proof chances are we will not have it.

Another equally frustrating and improbable position is waiting from disclosure from our official organisations, which are in my experience corrupt beyond redemption. Here my conclusion is: If official disclosure comes it is likely to be a pack of lies and slander of alien species so as to maintain power and control.

It's all a bit like proving a negative, I could ask you to prove you are not an idiot and you would have a very hard time doing so. Not because you are an idiot, relax, but because it's just a dishonest proposition I'm saddleing you with. Same with debunkers, they saddle UFO witnesses and reporters with an equally dishonest proposition, proof of something which likely is bigger than them.

And in the meanwhile, thousands of sightings and cases, some indeed possibly holding the proof you do crave, are sidelined by this massive cultural jerk off that is the urge to debunk the UFO phenomenon. It is real, we should no longer waste time asking that question and focus the energy into deeper study of the wider body of cases acceptance of this reality would give us.

I despise skeptics and will attack them on sight. They do, however, serve a very important function. It's easy to get lose your ground while swimming in UFOlogy, someone has to reel us back in from time to time.

Looks like even within ATS we've managed to create two sides who bicker and argue instead of everyone working together for the same goal.

Don't dismiss anything without looking into it.
Don't accept anything without looking into it.
Use good judgement, logic, and an open mind.

Someday we might actually be able to come up with some answers. Or not.

Oh, by the way Zepherian your post makes no sense at all. Sorry.

Everyone should be sceptical to a certain extent, especially with unreliable evidence, also remember there are many different kinds of sceptics, but to put it simple there are hard and soft sceptics, i agree sometimes hard sceptics are annoying when theres reasonable evidence of something.

Ok, short version: If aliens are real we should assume they are more sophisticated than us and we might not get proof, a situation similar to the proof of God and it's a bit like proving a negative (which is nigh on impossible). There is something behind the UFO phenomenon, it is just that persistant and we shouldnt try to say it's always something else, as skeptics do. Asking for cold hard proof, in the Carl Sagan "extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof" would be ok if it were one or two cases, but since it's thousands we can skip that step confident that there's something here.

Or an even shorter version: I believe we should consider aliens, or at the very least electrogravitic technology, a probability and not an improbability, and skeptics take us away from what, imo, would be the right path to deal with what is happening. Emphasis on "is happening".

There certainly is SOMETHING going on. The evidence (witness testimony, some legitimate photographs, etc.) indicates that the 'something' may be an extra-terrestrial presence on this planet. However, it is obvious that whatever is happening is very clandestine so things may not be what they seem.

If there is indeed an alien presence on this planet then evidence would indicate that they are technologically advanced. That says nothing of their character or intentions. There is evidence of malevolent and benevolent activity so I find it likely there is more than one force working here (or in the case of alien presence, more than one group of entities which may or may not be divided by species lines).

We should all keep open minds grounded by logic and work together toward a common goal of discovery rather than bickering amongst ourselves and drawing lines in the sand between "skeptics" and "believers".

Agreed, I am not posting against the concept of skepticism, I am skeptical about a lot of things regarding ufo's, not least of which is the whole abduction meme. What I was focusing on was the debunker type of skepticism which focuses on discrediting the whole shebang of ufology claiming it's just run of the mill stuff like swamp gas, weather baloons and chinese lanterns.

Something is cleary up, and I agree that there is probably a very complex backdrop to what is going on.

Oh that's right it's debunkers I attack on sight, not skeptics. Got mixed up there. The problem with debunkers is that they mix extreme skepticism with an agenda to disprove. Skepticism is necessary, but must be coupled with an open mind since we know squat about our universe and existence in general.
