Hello ATSers!

Before I begin, I want to make it clear my view and perspective on this issue is that of someone who is open to the possibility of life outside of earth. I do not presume to know "the truth", but I try to use discernment and follow my convictions. With that said, after many years of ongoing reseach and study of this issue, I have come to a conclusion not only are we not alone here on earth, there 'seems' to be an ongoing interaction between ETs and various world govt's and civilians, and 'possible' exchange(reverse engineering of technology), but this is a completely different discussion in itself. I strongly believe that we must begin to shift our focus from the question of are UFOs real or not, to the question how can we mentally prepare ourselves for 'possible' disclosure of the presence of beings from other worlds.

For anyone still learning, about this issue please refer to this site - www.soulwise.net... - I found it helpful to answer basic questions about it, and hope u find time to do your own research, and don't believe what anyone tells you unless it resonates within your own consciousness.

It its imperative that we inform ourselves, there is a plethora of information on the internet, but beware of disinformation, and use discernment.

My purpose of creating this thread is not to convince anyone of anything but to hopefully to engage in constructive and informative dialect and exchange of ideas.

So now that I have given a brief background, I would like to know:

what you all think about the current state of the UFO issue in media and politics?

Todays news focuses on the war in Iraq, the economy, etc, these are all important issues and certainly deserve attention but to me the most important issue we face today is the issue of the 'possibility' of an 'alien' presence here on earth. Revelation of this issue can create a shift in everything we do, and how we think of ourselves and others, from religion, to politics and everything between.

I realize this is a very complex issue that is structured and carefully compartmentalized, and I believe that one of the reasons the issue hasn't been disclosed to the public is there are those who hide the truth so that the power they have derived from lying will not be threatened.

Currently we have two Presidential candidates, John McCain and Barack Obama who have the potential to possibly come clean about this issue and change the scope of the world we live.

Barack Obama has demonstrated an ability and willingness to discuss sensitive issues and has promised to end old politics and unites all parties by telling the truth and being transparent. This is promising and a necessary component for disclosure, but a while back he was asked about the issue of life on other planets and here was his response.

John McCain is another good candidate with strong credentials, his style is a bit different from Obama's, he seems more private and reserved, but all in all seems capable of being a strong leader, when asked about the issue of UFOs, here was his reaction

(sry about the quality)

So there it goes, I want to know what you all think about this if you have a any thoughts ideas or links please post

I have come across some very useful links and I also encourage you all to google stephen Bassett and check out some of his interview he is a strong advocate of disclosure and is working tirelessly to pressure the govt to do so.

Jimmy Carter was supposed to disclose in 1977 when he took office. We've been waiting 31 years, so I'm guessing it will take another 31 years for more red tape to cut.
Don't count on it.

Did you all catch Obama's very last remark? "There may be some other folks on their way.?"
He is right, though, we need to focus on our issues at home.

But I do think that disclosure with come with this next presidency. However, I don't think it will be first on the agenda.
I do think it will continue to come as a trickle.

edited to say I was really hoping Richardson would be V.P.

here's a story relayed to me from a producer at 60 minutes. take it all with the proverbial grain of salt. This guy was the one of the original recipients of the majestic docs that were sent to Nightline when he was working there. He's a ufo guy, very interested in the subject, always was. Anyway, Carter promises to disclose and then, as we all know, he doesn't. So this guy meets Carter some time after he leaves office and he says to him "Mr. President, when you ran for offiice you promised to disclose. what happened?"

Carter says he asked about it. He asked about Roswell, he asked about aliens, ufos etc. Carter tells this producer "I didn't have the proper clearance."

the 60 minute man says to Carter "Mr. President, with all due respect, that's ridiculous. you were the president. isn't that all the clearance you would need."

Carter says "that's what I told them. they then told me that I was only a temporary employee and as a result, my clearance wasn't high enough for me to have access to that information."

so, there you go.

I think Eisenhower sign an executive order stating that even presidents may not have a need to know. I was stating (trying to use humor) it will not happen anytime soon.

I know you were, I was merely relaying a story told to me (and Springer) about Carter. This was from the horse's mouth, as it were. I'd heard about the presidents not having the proper clearance before but I'd never heard anyone tell a story such as this one that was actually believable. This 60 minutes producer was not someone I would take as a huckster, he wasn't pulling our lariats.

Disclosure seems to be a bit of a buzz-word. The U.S. Governemnt will never disclose what they know about the issue, therefor we can assume that we might at least receive and acknowledgment that the phenomena is real, and extra-terrestrial.

I think this is all we will get. ever.

I think all we need is for the general population of this planet to start believing, because then it doesn't matter what the government has, they won't be able to stop 80 percent or more of the planet from wanting answers ^_^.

And for that, we need 1 very absolute piece of evidence, something that cannot be denied beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Everyone start praying......

As for the president disclosing. No chance in hell.

The president does not and will never have the proper clearance to this information, until the shadow government is wiped off the face of this planet.
