House panel votes to cite Rove for contempt

Voting along party lines, the House Judiciary Committee said that Rove had broke the law by failing to appear at a July 10 hearing on allegations of White House influence over the Justice Department, including whether Rove encouraged prosecutions against Democrats such as former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.

The committee decision is only a recommendation, and it was unclear whether Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., would allow a final vote. Rove has denied any involvement with Justice decisions, and the White House has said Congress has no authority to compel testimony from current and former advisers.

Yep. The whole reason this congress is so entirely wortthless is that the vast majority of them are guilty of all the crimes this putrid administration is. Pelosi, as well as almost all the rest of them signed off on torture and illegal spying and wire-taps, so they can't prosecute anyone without the risk of being taken down themselves. The entire system has been entirely corrupted and compromised. Its a giant crime family now.

You know, the establishment better start shutting down all this 'reporting' and closing up all 'public' information sources or they will all inevitably get burned.

Since we know the political body is not truly 'representative' of the people anymore than the Administration, and we know the Judiciary branch is not inclined to do anything that would be contrary to their "sponsor's" will, we can expect that they ONLY place justice can come from is the people.

Take away the power of the people to question and all will be well again.

It makes me wonder, if all this "UFO disclosure" rumor mongering is a desperate attempt to get people focused on something other than the people directing the government ignoring the American people's will.

This is all and well but why not go after the big boys instead of their peons. Nothing will get done sadly this is just one of the MANY dog and pony shows our government likes to put on. Good thread and good find but the 2 party mafia will stick together and Rove will look at laugh at all of us.
