To be honest. I never got the whole Bid Laden thing. He is probably pushing daiseys. Fact is, there is a line of islamic extremists in line to take his place.

I guess the gov thinks we need a boogeyman to keep our flawed geopolitical interests piked and going.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. Pakistan is definitely caught in the middle and the loss of life continues to grow there as well as the growing hatred for the U.S.

Today two U.S. helicopters were shot at by the Pakistan military.

U.S. is now saying the helicopter incident didn't happen.

See my new thread U.S. denies crossing the line.

And some fresh news on Benazir Bhutto.

Ms Bhutto's Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has criticised the government investigation as woefully inadequate. PPP Senator Babar Awan said the party would not back down in its demands for a UN investigation. *"Benazir Bhutto was martyred in a political conspiracy. The entire government is now involved in a save-the-culprit campaign," he said.

There is a new investigation under way to find out details of her death.
