A bigger threat in "pure" drinking water is radon gas, a radioactive substance. Radon of 4ppm in the air requires your home to have special
equipment installed before you are allowed to sell the home.
Your drinking water has about 1000 ppm of radon in it.
I have to wonder, when you nuke it with a microwave, are you releasing the radon into the atmosphere where it becomes dangerous to breath.
I assume that it is safe as long as it stays in the water. The threat is primarily to your lungs.
My numbers come from government sites on the subject.
