excellent detective work.

you may also want to look into this....squidbillies.

obviously, this explains the missing upper jaw.

this is all a precursor to the coming of tan.

Looks like a wannabe griffin! I don't think it is one I just think who ever took the picture/made the photoshop collage wanted it to look that way! It's funny how they never have pictures from different angles!! I would have turned the think round with a stick to really see what it looked like and then taken some more pictures.....

Who or what is tan? Any references?

Another thought... could this be the end result of an alien abduction. If they abducted a dog and implanted it with alien creatures, or tried to create a dog to walk amongst us (like another poster said "Trojan Horse", but, it died.

They may have been investigating it and it escaped. Another thread here on ATS said that biologist could not identify it.

My main concern is: what is the government doing about it and if it came from the water are there others.

Let's examine the possibilities:

1 - Aliens abducted some sort of canine/rodent and implanted it with alien creatures so it could walk amongst us? (DogHead anyone?)

2 - Some snot nosed kids caught a raccoon and skinned it just to be cruel.

I know which way I am leaning, but I think we forget the most important point of all:

Does it taste good with barbecue sauce?

The plot thickens!

According to America's Most Reliable News Source(tm):

It's no longer at the beach where it was supposedly found; then again, the sand it's resting on in the photo could be anywhere in the world. "They say an old guy came and carted it away," Navitski told New York magazine. "He said, 'I'm going to mount it on my wall.'"

I live near Plum Island, which is where near where this thing washed ashore. Plum Island is a Government Test Facility for animal research. It is very secret and you cant land on the island or take pictures of it or even get too close to it by boat or you will get in trouble. Maybe the government is doing genetic research there and creating these things.

Okay, I think this is beating a dead horse (or raccoon) at this point, and most are already on board with the raccoon solution. But just in case, I found some hi-res pics and put this together:

I think its something thats been frozen for a while and when that big chunk of ice broke apart in Canada it defrosted and moved on down to the Jersey shore? I don't know but it seems whoever took the picture could have gotten more than just one angle.

I cant believe how quickly news like this spreads on long island (kind of like the plague) I grew up in the hamptons and I was one of the first recipients of the circulating email of "fido" (as we've named him) so i wanted to tell "my side" of the story-

i received it from my sister in an email on Sunday the 20th. Not exactly the nicest thing to wake up to. The original message was forwarded on the 19th from an iphone. When i first got the picture i was like, "no way thats real! someone photoshopped it!!" but when i called her later to ask her WTF??!! She told me her husband sent it to her and he got it from his brother who was in Montauk that day and apparently saw this thing in the flesh. I was like, "well what is it?" and she said she didnt know- she was gonna get more details later that night and she would call me.

I was on the edge of my seat all night and when she finally called me. i asked a million questions but she was still kind of vague about it. She said they still didnt know what it was, but there was a crowd of people standing around and someone had speculated that it was a raccoon. And then apparently, "some guy" took it and brought it to his back yard to be buried. I was like HUH? Who took it? "i dont know- some guy". why would some guy take it to his yard to be buried? and why didnt they take it to get an autopsy or something to see what the hell it is. And doesnt animal control usually come and remove dead animals? I was baffled.

I was on a mad mission for some more information. I started googling every word and phrase i could think of to find something about it. I searched local newspapers and kept coming up with nothing then I came accross a surfer message board that someone posted the picture on. I read that it was a "plataweisel" and it gave a long description of what it was and I was like ok. It’s a plataweisel and then I read the description more clearly and realized the guy was only joking.

I thought it was a little strange that something that creepy washed up on the beach and it didn't make front page news, So I sent the photo and an email to danspapers. (a local newspaper) They posted it on their blogspot. Later that day, someone on that surfer message board posted an article that they found from the east hampton independent (another local newspaper)Dated July 23. In the independent it said it was a raccoon that was skinned, and part of the upper jaw was missing. I accepted that for a couple of days but the more I looked at the picture and compared it to a raccoon, the more I doubted it. I asked my sisters husband what he thought and he said,“That aint no coon”.
I showed it to my co-workers and the whole office was buzzing about it. That’s when i decided to post it on a myspace bulletin and on a couple message boards and then here (been a fan for a long time but never posted before)i wanted to see what you all thought- except someone beat me to it and the next thing i knew, I was up till 3 am reading about “the Montauk monster”. It was all over the internet .The next day it was on Fox news. Today it was on 3 different news channels and in Newsday and I even heard the DJ talk about it on the radio.
This is crazy. There are so many unanswered questions that everyone has brought up. Ive been reading all the message boards and I just can’t believe it is a raccoon, a turtle or a dog. I don’t know what the hell it is but I wish someone would tell me!! I think its fascinating. Those of us who live here on the eastern end of LI know how boring it is, so when something like this happens it's exciting. OOOOOH another Montauk/Plum conspiracy. Lol

Focus on the hands. I blew up the hands in photoshop and put raccoon paws in the image. Look at the raccoon paws. Both raccoon paws have very dark claws. (my boss pointed this out to me) The fingernails on Fido are totally clear and the fingers are long and thin - they almost look human its creeps me out. It doesnt look like a raccoon paw to me at all.

Like i said, "look for it to mysteriously disappear." In fact, i think i have found another clue that indicates L.I. might have a serious alien problem.

Paging Darwin: Is Montauk Sea Monster Real or Photoshop Phantasy

The validity of the picture has been further established by the numerous eyewitnesses who saw the animal on the beach in front of Montauk's Surfside Inn. Theories abound as to what the animal is and where it came from. Marci Caplis of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service noted that rare and unknown sea animals did surface after the Asian tsunami,

Bizarre 'Monster' Washes Up On L.I. Shore

A tipster told Gawker.com that there is "a government animal testing facility very close by" where the creature washed ashore, but government biologists contacted by Hamptons-based Web site Plum said after looking at the pictures that "no such creature exists," according to Gawker

photo credit www.newsday.com... I noticed this photo of a car on fire as i was reading the article on the Montauk entities. The beast, as i stated earlier is the equivalent of an alien SUV, it is an alien created hoax. The true entities are equivalent to an ocean wave in size and height. They are intelligent and non-physical, they are smaller than grains of sand. As children build sand castles in the sand, these people, for they are people in their own right, build bodies by compressing their bodies tightly together to form physical bodies like the "one" on the beach. Back to the burning car, i see faces in the flames and in the top of the picture (background) in the front yards of a residential neighborhood, 25 foot tall "faces" in shades of green and white. They can be captured on camera, and can be revealed by altering the light values. As everyone's vision is different, it's better if you do it yourself. Just thought you might want to know.

Meerkats and mongoose are not native species to Long Island, by any means.
