This isn't so much a story, as it is a graphic. But I still thought it was something that should be seen by the ATS community. I was very surprised when I saw what country it is. Makes you kind of go "what in the world?".

Thoughts?

I was pretty sure it was Canada. Who did you think it would be? I am not trying to be condescending, just curious.

No worries
, I thought it was going to be either Saudi Arabia or Russia for some reason. Very surprised that it's Canada. You don't hear about that in the news. I wonder if they make us pay them in Euro's too

They better watch out... we may need to spread a little freedom to our friends up north.

I thought that was common knowledge. But I guess if you don't follow politics on a daily basis and with all the talk about the middle east from the MSM, some people might think the middle east provides the most oil.

I heard that they are being held hostage by vicious despot hell-bent on the destruction of the United States. Watch out Canada! We're on to you!

The funny thing is, after reading through your news, I think we may be more free up here, than you are down there. You can come for a beer and some good old Canadian Whiskey though.

A question, just how are gas prices up in Canada? High, low, normalish? I just want to know since you guys seem to produce so much.

yes we are more free in canada, but we are going the same way usa is since our pm is gay and likes the way america is trying to get us there. In other news its the americans that come up north to us for the freedom Video news Also not to mention their soldiers running for cover here.

I hate to say this, but I posted this a couple of weeks ago after doing a statistical analysis of the oil coming into this country and what it costs us.

It's all in the tar sand, my man.

We're paying around $1.30 a litre. Our money is close to par, so all you need do is calculate 4 litres to a gallon and you'll find we're paying plenty at the pumps.

It varies province to province due to taxes and also trhe cost of delivering to out of the way places.

Why then do the Bush's spend so much time wining and dining the saudi royal family then?
They should be taking the Prime Minister to a lobster dinner and a Yankees game.

Maybe it's ALSO about controlling the flow of oil to other countries.

*cough* China *cough*

Where I am (the province with all the oil), gas is running at around 1.25-1.30 a liter. That is about $4.83 a gallon. Our gas is considered cheap in the country. The upside is there is a lot of money to go around here in the province, so it hasn't hurt us too much. Sucks to pay $110 to fill up my truck, but I can deal with it.

Well, since we have our conspiracy hats on.... I would say that the profit margin on Saudi oil is waaaaaaay higher than on the oil in Canada. So, if you were to want in on any type of profit, the Saudi's would be the ones to take out to dinner.

Oh good a Canadian that can help with conversions.

In Australia we are at about $1.50 a litre. It was up to $1.65 last week. Our currencies are so close now its not worth converting

I know that most European countries and the Uk sit on about $2.50 a litre.

Could someone please tell me what the average American pays per litre? I get told down here that you guys and even us are bitching about nothing compared to the rest of the world. Good thread to get the real deal.

True. Steaming the oil out of the tar sands is way more costly

Good point.
