Gravel: Take Bush to The Hague

www.presstv.ir

Former Democratic candidate Mike Gravel says President George W. Bush should be taken to The Hague for war crimes rather than being impeached.

In a Monday video conference with Press TV, the former Alaska senator said President Bush does not 'deserve' to be impeached for invading Afghanistan and Iraq, which has resulted in the loss of 'millions of lives'.

"An Impeachment just means you would only take away his (Bush's) presidency. Well, he is almost done (with) his presidency. What really needs to happen is that these people have to be held accountable for the crimes they have committed," the 78-year-old Libertarian said referring to the US president and Vice President Dick Cheney.

This is a rather stunning statement as it comes from a former senator.

While I whole heartedly agree that Bush and his cohort should be tried from the crimes they have committed against humanity.

Taking Bush and company to the Hague would send a powerful message to the world that 'we the people' do not support preemptive war waged in the name of vendetta and greed.

Unfortunately, with the two-party (which is really one party) crime family of congress and the croney-stacked and corrupted "Justice system", Hague is looking like it may be the ONLY place that these criminals will be brought to justice. As we can see, congress are all now ENABLERS of these crimes, and are guilty of signing off on many themselves, including torture---So of course they won't try to hold admin officials accountable---They are guilty of OKAYING these crimes too! So I think Gravel is right, Hague may be the place to bring about accountability...

Starred and Flagged!!

Well the only American politicians that are willing to stand tall and defend American ideals seem to be
Denis Kucinich,Ron paul and Mike Gravel
Precisely the ones that Americans didn't want as president,And so Americans will get more war, less constitution , less freedom and another smooth talking Traitor as president.

Mike Gravel knows that in order to preserve the legacy of America it will take a move like this to assure the world that Americans do not abide tin pot despots
for leaders and that their leaders are not above international law.
anything less than la Hague I assure you will be harmful to America.

Especially since the Red Cross has made its judgment ,and that is that America is guilty of
STATE SPONSORED TORTURE !

An incompetent public breeds incompetent leaders

What would it take to make this happen? Would Interpol have to come and break down the White House door and arrest him? I'm having trouble envisioning him going voluntarily, although if he's not guilty he should have nothing to fear! Isn't that what we are always being told?

If any person of the US military is brought to The Hague facing warcrimes the US will invade it. They even made a law about it.

www.hrw.org...

So the chances of it happening are slim to none.

Holy mother of god... Hague Invasion Act?

Jeez this scumbag never a misses a chance to sh*t on the world and laugh in everyone's faces doe he?

When is the "Immunity from War Crimes" Act coming into force?

Sad... very sad to say the least. That this nutjob would actually consider invading one of the US's closest allies because their being charged with a crime they could well be guilty for.

This article is from 2002 so it's already in place. They had a bit of foresight on this one.
