Well you know we're not stupid people here. There have been MUCH better quality hoaxes that have been brought to this site that were rightly identified as such.
If youre going to attempt to fake a ufo image on this site, dont do a half ass job, put some effort into it and dont insult our intelligence with crap like that.

Fair enough be skeptic, express your opinion. But people giving personal abuse and asking for bans? How do you know the so called "hoaxer" wasn't being hoaxed? As far as I can tell someone posted something he saw that was weird, asked for opinions on what it is, and got a # load of abuse for his troubles.

What a fantastic place this is to express close-minded opinions. Bravo.

I agree with you, the idea that the OP may be the victim of a hoax seems to be beyond some folk, it could even be someone in the corn field he mentioned, experimenting with an engine, or power source he thinks might benefit Mankind (unlikely but possible)

OP check the cornfield for a circle or evidence someone was there testing something.

The fact it looks like a pot or car part, in this day and age means absolutely nothing, over the past few years we have seen people make all kinds of things fly, perhaps the person flying it could only afford junk, esp in todays economical doom and gloom, they may simply be trying to make money for their family.

If the OP is a victim, then i applaud you for getting the pictures, pictures like that UFO or not are very hard to get, and not many members could do it i bet?

However if this is a hoax then shame on you, and why waste your time doing all this just to get a ban? why not enjoy your account, and share other peoples stories, pictures, there are a ton of pictures on the internet, which look very real, that dont get near a thread on here, not easy to find, but when you do, people appreciate it a lot, because some people dont have the time to search for them, so rely on others to share, you dont need to hoax, what if you really did see one in the future? nobody will believe you.

I call HOAX.

I agree - the quality of the some of the posts lately is dropping in quality. Mass-market coming to ATS?

Shall be interesting if the OP receives a ban.

[edit on 27-7-2008 by jmszoneguy]

Size claim does not match and if this thing shot up into the air so fast he could barely see it I will eat someones hat.

The OP is clearly trying to defraud the members of ATS here.

I stand by my opinion.

What really irritates me though is the fact that BS, fraudulent, hoaxes get more page views, replies and attention than a post that actually has some merit to it.. But of course, thats always been the case on ATS.

Um, yea as I said a few pages ago, and quoted above, this has been the case on ATS since Ive been coming here.
Ive seen some very good posts on here that would get little or no attention because they werent huge lies or didnt make some kind of outrageous and totally unbelievable claims.

A story about an Alien Warship departing from Nibiru (backed up with pictures from the hubble) on its way to destroy the earth, moon or the sun will always generate at least 50 replies, while story thats more important and true but less "exciting" or controversial will get a lot less attention, if any at all.

This advice is for the OP and anyone talking pictures of "UFOs".

There is no point in a dozen bleary photos. Take a deep breath, try to relax and FOCUS the camara.

I could be wrong, but it seems there is a reason these photos were not in focus. If they were it would be immediately obvious what we are looking at.

Well, thank you for saying that. It makes me feel a bit better about my thread that is being ignored.

I think many of us cling to the hope that someday, somewhere, maybe here, a good, convincing picture will show up. Let's hope it does before we all become so jaded and disgusted by the hoaxes that we simply don't even look any more.

Well that's it, jmszoneguy removed the two videos from Youtube and seems to
have dissapeared. It's clear now this was a failed hoax attempt. To remove your
two videos from Youtube jmszoneguy does'nt make any sense as we got all your
pictures and also on Photobucket so there's no way to cover up the hoax.

Also you still keep your Yotube user page under the pseudonym “justtookthis”
so you better hurry and cancel your Yotube account to erase any trace of you
but be advised all the pages were captured previously by me as evidence.
Are you also going to cancel that email address you posted here? That shows
your real IP address so what are you going to do now.

A few hours ago I predicted we would find the truth very soon about this case.
It was fast as the user jmszoneguy debunked himself by dissapearing and
removing his materials. End of story (Unless he says otherwise).

It does resemble some of the things mentioned by previous posters in the thread, but there are some interesting details which I don't think were mentioned.
The blurriness is caused by the camera autofocusing on the trees in the foreground, and the sun would hit something of the described size in the way it does in the photos,if the object were a ways back from the trees in a clearing or field beyond.
From the photos it appears to be about the size of a car at about 150' beyond the trees, hovering at about 200' off the ground.
If it were an industrial fan tossed into the air, which it does resemble, how would it be turning and so on?,how would one throw something up into the air several times to get the different angles of it without it being bent and distorted from landing?.
This very well could be a hoax...but I find it disappointing how quickly it was assumed to be one from people with supposedly open minds, denying ignorance.
I have seen several UFO's myself that resembled commonly known things flying through the air,but I don't even tell anyone about these things anymore, they just think I'm nuts.

Exactly my point as well. What ever happend to beeing polite and decent? Just because we're not talking to each other in person it doesn't mean we have to be so abusive and humiliating against each other. We are supposed to be civilized people, for crying out loud, start acting like that as well!
Whatever reason you have in your mind for throwing out all kind of BS, keep it to yourself, and write a post in a subjective way. Don't just throw yourself after a poster just because he wan't your opinion on something no matter how ridiculus it might seem to you it might be pretty real to the person posting it, so at least try to be polite in your first post in a new thread at least.

I do know that I'm totaly of topic now, but I just think it's getting to much harrasment in a lot of the threads were people are telling us their first hand experiences with something unknown to them. So please, at least keep your mouth shut until the thread has been debunked and the proof points to the poster being a hoaxer.

There is absolutely no good reason for not acting civilized no matter what.

If there is someone out there having a really good story of a personal experience of them, and they join in on this community and we are so unlucky they start reading some of these threads, they might be frightened from sharing their stories witch is much real to them if not for us, because they don't want to have their story laught of, so start have some respect.

We, SADLY, are having a lot of hoaxers joing this site. And even more sad is that they seem to grow in numbers, but that doesn't mean that everyone sharing a personal event ot them is trying to fool us. It could also be that the person have been fooled by someone else without knowing it and is seeking our help, is it then fair that we answer with throing BS at them? At least not in my opinion.

Guess I'm going to be wished banned after posting this, but then let so be, I don't want to be a part of the harrasement of others.

That all beeing said, I'm not poiting my finger at anyone right now.. Not either the thread starter or any ot the posters her. I'm just pointing out something that shouldn't even have to be said.

And no I do apologize for going far of topic, so let's either forget this thread (since it woun't help anything having 20+ more members posting that this is a hoax, since that point is made quite clear now) or we go back to discussing the subject here.

Looks like an old school fly fishing reel to me. Look really close in the top center. I think I can see a blurry spot that looks like a string connecting that has been Photo Shopped out. Time to let this thread die.

For those that did not saw the YouTube videos, do not worry, they only show the photos, one of the videos with some transition effects, the other without the effects, so the photos from the Photobucket account show the same thing (I think, I did not compare them to the video).

Here are the pros and cons in my opinion:

The pro "this is a real ufo" points:

1. The OP seems/(seemed) sincere
2. The OP put effort into posting the photos for everyone

The con points:

1. The OP put a lot of effort into making two videos, one with special effects and then the one he/she posted here. Seems like a lot of work for something that just happened this morning.

2. The exif information on the photos show 2005 while the timestamp on the photos are from today.

3. The perspective in the photos looks (to me) that the object is in the backyard, and not over a cornfield beyond the backyard and about the size of an automobile rim.

4. The OP said on this thread the the object was the size of an SUV, while on youtube he said the object was the size of a bus.

I got this when the videos were still on youtube this morning...

5. The videos were pulled from youtube by the user

In my opinion, these points lead me to believe this was a hoax rather than the OP being hoaxed by people in the cornfield.
