Hi,i am wondering if anyone can help locate a clip of the U.F.O. caught on camera above Bonsall moor Derbyshire as the one that i have found is edited.

Here is the clip that i have found on youtube
www.youtube.com...

The BBC used to have the footage here
www.bbc.co.uk...

The link on the bbc page used to go to a video of the ufo that was approx 5-10 seconds longer than the one posted on you tube. They have since merged the link to have your say.

5 seconds is a long time in video footage and shows the mothership?in a lot more detail.I understand that the footage was sold to an american film company and i am wondering if anybody has seen the longer version.
Many thanks.

Edited to add that the youtube vid shows 8 seconds of blank nothingness at the end.

More interesting than the missing 8 seconds or so is the footage that NASA holds.
Does anyone have any info on the NASA footage perchance?

Sharon Rowlands, 44, from the village of Bonsall, in the Peak District, has reportedly been paid £20,000 for the footage. And officials at NASA are said to have asked to examine the tape, because they believe it shows the same type of craft once spotted by the space agency's own cameras during a space shuttle mission.

news.bbc.co.uk...

It even mentions the fact that the craft emits some form of light from its left-hand side then flips over and disappears in a red flash.

The infamous Derbyshire footage also known as the Bonsall lady UFO video was never
made public. This lady Sharon Rowlands who recorded the sighting was contacted by
producer Robert Kiviat (The Alien Autopsy) at that time and made her sign a contract
for an exclusive interview about the sighting for an alleged UFO tv special deal that at
the end was never made. It was Robert Kiviat who promised Mrs. Rowlands that amount of money to get the exclusive rights but this was a non signed promise, just by
word. Mrs. Rowlands belived the deal was true and posted messages on the Internet
saying that she had an incredible UFO footage that a certain Hollywood producer was
going to buy for 20,000 pounds for a tv show. It was‛nt true. Rowlands agreed to post
a single frame from the video only and the story got attention worldwide.

It was Robert Kiviat who told Sharon Rowlands that the footage was going to be analyzed by NASA experts but this was also a lie as she later found out. British researchers Graham Birdsall and Russell Gallaghan from the UFO Magazine were also trying to contact Sharon Rowlands at that time to get her story but she declined to talk to them as she was thinking to be rich and famous by those Bob Kiviat‘s promises.

This was a truly sad story and at the end both Sharon Rowlands and Robert Kiviat made
a regrettable ridicule. The footage was never released.

The first video you are posting from Youtube IS NOT the Sharon Rowlands Derbyshire
Bonsall UFO footage. This is in fact a video recorded by Abby Parker and Terry Hill in
Bedhampton, Havant on a very different date. It is mistaken because of the shape
very similar to the Bonsall one but that‘s all. Some more links to this case.

The selling of the video tape has since been disproven. (This tape does exist however as I know that UFO investigator Mr Omar Fowler has viewed the tape. Ed).

www.ufoinfo.com...

I have got to see this tape.I never knew about all of the stories surrounding the footage.I thought it was sold to the television company and that the video on BBC and youtube was the original footage.

Thankyou for the info,i have got a lot more links to read through now.

free_spirit has this spot on. I remember the story very well as the woman in question lives very close to me. At the time we heard numerous stories of the men in black taking the footage, then it was NASA, Spielberg ...you name it. Its a real shame the footage was never released, Bonsall Moor sure is a nice place to go spotting with many sightings making the local papers, unfortunately the most i have seen up there is alot of shooting stars and afew satellites.

Hi Tracey ace, you know Bonsall? I go to the Peaks regular, Bonsall's not far from here. I don't know if you saw my footage of ufo orbs a few days ago, they were filmed at Biggin about eight miles from Bonsall, 'though someone said it was crap footage as it was filmed on a mobile. Sharons footage of the Bonsall lights was on here a while back. That area of Derbyshire is teeming with ufos.

Panjera you mention men in black etc. The landlord of the Barley Mow Alan told me lots of stuff like that, even that Jimmy Carter popped in for a pint!

Im not surprised, have you tried the homebrew Cider from there ?

Its a nice place the Barley Mow mate, however ive never spoken to the landlord about ex presidents I must remember for next time. As far as i know all the MiB type stories were just local hysteria and general fun poking at the story.

Myself and a mate used to go up to Bonsall Moor quite alot on the Motorcross Bikes and would occasionally camp over to make a weekend of it. The views up there on a clear night are really nice you can see alot of sky for a very long way, i still hear of sightings in the area but havent been lucky there myself. Oh well maybe next time.

Hi ufoorbhunter and Panjera.

Great to see im not alone here.I love the Derbyshire area and i will look for your thread about Biggin hill.

Its not hard to believe that Derbyshire was the ufo capital not too long ago as i have spoken to many people that remember seeing objects in the skies but a lot of them have faded away into the shadows as time has passed but every now and then i see something and tell as many people as i can to try and get more Derby folk noticing. It is starting to work though, slowly.

Apparantly it has something to do with the peaks and the magnetic pull that it has.I love camping around the peaks too but only ever seem to see military aircraft near Thorpe cloud area.
Not been able to snap one though, they are too fast.By the time i have picked up a camera they have already flown over, but i can still hear them.

Is there a campsite up there? Alan's offered us use of his back garden, reckons lots of ufo folk camp there. The place as you say offers wonderful views of the Peaks, I did go on a scouting trip there about two years ago but ended up getting stuck in the pub!

Hi Tracey, it sure is nice to meet some fellow derbyshire folk on here

Ufoorbhunter: We used to sleep in the van we had taken the bikes up in, the track is/was (not been this year) right on the top of the moor near to the quarry. Ive not come into the moor from the Wirksworth side in quite a while but from what i remember it is much quicker and easier to get to the top from the Matlock side. I couldnt see there being any problems with pitching a tent up there for the night if you so desired

Traceace you still there? So good to see someone acknowledging the Derbyshire hills as very important in the ufo zone of England. Thorpe cloud, you camp there by the river? Saw my first ufo orbs down by the stepping stones btw.
Right hope you're still there, here's my take. There's a place called Parsley Hay where you rent a bike. At that point the magnetism is mental. It's across the road from Arbor Low, apparently if a perfect triangle is laid over England Arbor Low is the apex of the pyramid. It's like where the M6 and M1 of the ufo travel system meet, I can't remember the bottom left point but the bottom right is a place called East Mersea Island near Colchester. I suppose a map and a ruler and one could establish the bottom left part of the pyramid.

Im back.I had heard of the magnetism but didn`t know exactly where it was referring to.I had presumed Arbor Low which apparantly means cold harbour.I had also recently read about the Derbyshire neck that only People in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire suffer from.Something to do with the wind that passes through the peaks, rather like a wind tunnel.
Have been caught in those winds before and it can be quite deafening and frightening when standing next to the hills.

Yes i camp by the river and a few of us hope to be going there very soon for a weekend.Im hoping to attach my camera to a telescope when i go to try and get some better pics, just hope nothing goes past too quickly.
The farmer there has told our group we can camp out of season as long as we get him a bottle of scotch for the cold winter months.

Yes,it does look like something living.Reminds me of the film The Abyss,a bit like a sea entity.

Knew this was one way ticket, but you know i had to come.
Love that film.

I haven't camped there for a couple of ears we go to Parsley Hay these days. £2.50 a night each including excellent chance of witnessing ufos!
The dovedale campsite is so nice. If you're interested in ufo orbs then the stepping stones is a great place, if you treck to the edge there sometimes occurs lights that defy logic. Also we saw them about a mile along the dove track towards Milldale, at the cave oon your right hand side (first cave, not the bigger one further on). They tend to be the white type and travel in pairs 'though I did see a single one about last February buzzing in the valley. How do you communicate with the ufos?

I am unsure about communicating with ufo`s as such but whilst talking about them to friends they sometimes appear.Like one occasion earlier this year, sitting in a friends garden 3 one after another. They may have been chinese lanterns as yet again i didn`t have a camera with me,but my friend remarked "oh my god" and dashed off indoors to get binoculars. They all seemed to congregate together though and sort of hung there for a while.
My experiences tend to be in broad daylight and in and around the city of Derby, when im not prepared.

One day i hope i will get lucky whilst camping.

I also have to overcome a new fear i developed this year too.Vertigo.
I panicked on Thorpe cloud and ended up sliding back down the hill on my ...
I was absolutely terrified and i did not know why as i used to run up Thorpe cloud not too long ago.Either something in me has changed or it could be to do with the hill itself.

Will have to check out Parsley Hay though.Got rather stuck in our ways and tend to stay at the same place.
I want to get nearer to Castleton too.Love it there at christmas, looks lovely at that time of year.

Parsley Hay about 6 miles south of Buxton as you travel from Ashbourne. had lots of stuff happen there. If you park your car on the car park (if you camp in the field opposite the carpark it's £2.50 and the same price as a parking ticket) then you're on foot. Turn south on the cycle track towards Ashbourne walk towards the railway cutting, where the track forks off towards Matlock stop there, turn round face north west, then use your communicator (a torch) and flash it three times, in a flash a second sequence. Repeat until you make contact.
I'm in Stoke on Trent now, I used to live in Derby. Still miss it, Ashbourne Road, Uttoxeter New Road, Normanton, lived all over Derby, great fun, lots of crazy nights!

Funny you should mention Ashbourne rd,thats where i saw the 3 bright orb/lantern things.
My friend who we go camping with,he is from Stoke too.I think he would like to return as he is in Normanton now and he thinks it is stunting his kids development because of lack of countryside etc.He wants us to move there too.Not exactly sure where in Stoke he is from but he said Derby folk are often referred to as turnip farmers lol.

I once camped above Gullivers Kingdom in Matlock Bath and that was a very weird experience i can tell you.
I didn`t realise how close it was to Bonsall.Thank you google earth.I am useless with a map.

I thought we had camped on a badger set because of noise and movements and the fact that we could hear a jack russell barking in the distance. But now i think otherwise.I am hoping to return there.

You just follow the steep roads marked not suitable for vehicles behind the New bath hotel and at the end is a place to park for residents, lots of sharp turns and high gears and you`ll make it.Then there is a field and at night looked like someone was stood there watching at the far end.We camped there January one year in the snow.I think it was 2003.
