Salute to Darren McGavin

Some of you probably remember Carl Kolchak, but most of you probably don't remember the reporter in the pork pie hat.
Kolchak: The Night Stalker, one of the main inspirations for X-Files, and one of the main reasons I got into the supernatural, was mostly driven by Mr. McGavin's ability to portray the character he was given.
A lot of the reasons people on this site have for believing in conspiracy theories, paranormal, aliens, ect., have their beginning with Carl Kolchak, mostly due to McGavin's great performance.
Mostly just a salute to the fellow, if nothing else, without him, we'd have no X-Files.

Darren McGavin was a wonderful character actor. You can see him in Alfred Hitchcock presents and many other series of old. My favorite movie of his is "A Christmas Story", a wonderful performance by an underrated actor.

Simon Oakland was the perfect actor for Mr McGavin to play off of in "The Night Stalker".
