Spielberg has lived in Arizona when he was a child and he has been watching the stars since then and has always been interested in ufology and astronomy ever since.
Many of his movies show autobiographical scenes, eg. ET plays in a house which looks like the one of his parents, same with Poltergeist and the horror scenes.
So yes - I think he is a believer .

thanks I had forgotten about that stuff, ugh as one is want to do in the morning without enough coffee in the system.

and once again, why should so called celebrity status stop one from being able to say they believe in UFOs or anything else for that matter ? Of course you will notice I did say should. Not everything I say or do get printed in the rags the next day...

I guess it has the potential to be both good or bad, depending of different things.

but if they do......what can i do?

...yes !! u are right ... journalists of some kind will always keep saying the same stupid thing ( ..it is for publicity..) and we cannot stop them... the only thing we can do is to IGNORE them ... 'cause when they say things like that it means that they've nothing more to say ... so it is totally unimportant ... ...
Just go on thinking and doing what u think is right !!!!

I think it makes no difference. Celeb or not. 20 years ago maybe, but today: no. People get so much information all the time they don't need a celeb to draw their attention to any subject at all.

IMHO there are 2 sorts of people: Open minded people and narrow minded people. The latter one cannot believe anything which has not been scientifically proven and is not the mainstream opinion.

The other one is open minded already whether a celeb holds the same opinion or not.

But of course it doesn't hurt either when a celeb comes forward as a believer

Does the presence of a celebrity help or hurt ATS's community... ???

I think that the celebrity in itself doesn't hurt the community. But lots of things around it hurt it:
Rob's explanations are really interesting and it's great he shares his experiences with us like everybody on ATS (thanks Rob
. Great if you can read all these lies about you without too much wounds and in spite of this continuing to share your experiences with us
).
But...
I often read lot of topics on ATS and also the begining of topics about Rob ... the tone and explanations sound "natural", it's so interesting to read people opinions and experiences about paranormal and UFO's (I'm more particularly interested by sleep paralysis, ghosts and paranormal phenomenons described by scientists) .... and this until fan's sites are informed of Rob's interventions on ATS. Then 90% of the interventions sound ... how can I say...? "unnatural" or are out of the topic (thanks to the modarators for the cleaning :duh
- it give then the impression that many people intervene here, hoping for a personal answer of their idol... and the topics finish up in the air!

I won't say I don't know who is Robbie Williams or don't like his music: it won't be true. I simply hope that people who are not really interested by ATS, paranormal or UFO's will lose interest on this forum with time. They hurt ATS and not Rob's celebrity. That was just my opinion ...

About your post, I couldn’t agree more. I was quite surprised this particular subject was on the most active topics.

I see how having someone as famous as him in the “community” is exciting and new, and of course, it creates a buzz. But what started as a pertinent inquiry has now become a path to show some simpathy and, like you said, maybe getting a personal message from him.

I can't help but think that overanalizing how the media treats him, and how it might reflect on the site, and how he deals with all that is, in a way, similar to the way he is already scrutinized. Except we’re nicer.

I’m sure he appreciates words of support, we all do. But, come on, that’s not what he came here for. I might be wrong, but I believe the best way to actually show him some support is just to let the guy be. Let him have the pleasure of sharing his experiences and learn more about ufology in the best way: being treated like everyone else, and not having his posts under a magnifying glass. I’m sure it will be quite refreshing for him.

in my opinion it could really help the subject if a celeb speaks out loud if he / she got such experiences
most people tend to listen more to celebs than to a non-celeb person
it is much easier for a celeb to get his / her opinion reported than for a non-celeb person

sure there is always - as we have learnt and most of us already knew - the danger of misinterpretation, of loosing reputation, of the report just for the pure sensation and selling the paper
but sometimes even then people might become more open minded, as i statted before, some think of a celeb as a kind of modern hereo, and if that guy looks into the stars and seems to believe in U.F.O.s it can.t be that bad! makes it easier for them to think about the subject!

I agree...

I think that if a celeb comes forward as a believer it doesn't hurt...
And I repeat that if a celeb does that sort of thing and he shows his opinions and ideas on these subjects, he must be considered very BRAVE ...!!!

I think there as many pros as cons on that item.

But after all everbody should say what on his/her mind, it`s an open forum - open to all who share an interest for ufology and that`s what it`s all about!

i agree with you....just in part...
you are right when you said that the 90% of the interventions don't talk about UFO,like mine...I'm a wife,I'm a mother, and I have a great family around me...I'm very happy...
I lived the last years with the robbie williams'music....thinking he loves his fans...BUT I'm wrong...
when he decided to share his experience with you I thought it was a great thing, but I didn't think that he dindn't want to tell with us....it's horrible to understand that he hasn't any esteem for us!
here we are because of him...because,after 2 years this was a tentation too much strong...I want to say sorry to all the ATS' members and I hope you can understand our position....
I wonder whether he thought that nobody of us would be come in....2 years are passed, rob, what did you expect from us? we haven't no choise....maybe the silence? i think you want too much....
our sentiments are not changed....but really, it's very difficult to understand you....
I forgot....sorry robbie if I have invaded your area...AGAIN!

hey honey dont be so emotional about some popstar. if you wanna be here, be here. if not, not. this thread is basically about people (or celebritys) sharing their thoughts and what effects that might have because of their celebrity-position. i think nobody intended to hurt you. dont even have these negative feelings. be happy - do what you want - do not care about others.

Okay. I don't want to be the bad person here but I think this has gotten out of hand. Why on earth is it so horrible that he shared his UFO experiences with people who have the same interests instead of fans? Can we guage the advantages and drawbacks?
Advantage you get real genuine feedback with idea from people who have researched the topic and not just I love you robbie and wow that was cool.
Disadvantage the fans invade the place with people trying to discuss things that genuinely interest them and fill it with gushing and crying for attention.

2 years of silence you say? And he is supposed to tell you what you are supposed to do? Why? He has the right to live his life as he pleases. He is not chained to the music industry simply because he has made it his career thus far. He owes No one anything.. he is a human being with a right to choose what he wants to do with his time the same as anyone else.

Buying his music does not entitle you to have a say in what he does anymore than buying a cheeseburger gives you say in the life of the frycook.

So forgive me but I do not understand your position. Let him be! When he wants to interact with gushing fans he will go to a fansite which I am sure must exist. In the meantime I think it is really sad that he cannot make a post without this happening. He cannot participate like a normal average member because every time he tries ATS is invaded with fans demanding his attention. He should be able to post his opinions and idea like any of the rest of us without fear of it turning into a fanfest as this thread has.

There.. I said it.. done. over. finite. Robbie Williams fans all over the world can hate me now.. not like I care, but LEAVE him alone. Let him have some peace and be patient. I am sure that he does set aside time for controlled fan interaction from time to time. Be happy with what time he does give you because his time is his own. If he shares it with you.. be happy for that and leave him alone the rest of the time.

Sheesh . UGH. [/rant]

BTW I know this was off topic mods.. I appologize.

I've never said this...I'm really happy if he can share his experiences with you....

I agree to your rant, and I raise you another rant ! LOL. I know it was off topic but it needed to be said....

now to stay on topic, I had not realised that Jackie Gleason had said he had seen a UFO many years ago, I wonder if that got any people interested in the , I want to say "movement" but, I don't think that's the right word. I guess it didn't hurt his career too much. Then again, back in that day, celebrities didn't have to endure what they do now.

just re watching Taken of late, I completely forgot that Matt Frewer was in that, and now I am curious as to what his opinions are on the subject and if he's a believer. I can hear you all now, Matt Who ?
