ok, they're not happening.

The quake last night was medium-big, and I most certainly would not be writing this if there had been a 30 metre tsunami.

Please remember that roughly 20% of the earthquakes in the world happen here. It's like predicting a tornado in the USA in August.

the quake was 15 hours ago.

1. This is in no way, shape, or form a "breaking news" linkage.

2. The San Fransisco quake idea is laughable. First of all, the San ANdreas fault is a slip-strike fault, not a subduction fault. Large tsunamis don't form around slip-strikes. Look up the 1906 7.8 M quake in the Bay area and notice the maximum wave was 10 cm. Secondly, a 150 meter wave would be almost 5 times the largest recorded tsunami, which was the indonesian one a few years ago. The only way that fault could produce that wave would be if everything west of the fault sloughed off into the ocean... which I would think would be a little more interesting for people to know that the state of the following wave.

Tsunami's portrayed in films are unrealistic.
Its not a huge wave coming towards you its more like the sea rushes in it keeps coming for a long period of time its not actually high above the sea.
150 meter high wave would dissipate and break quicker than the Indonesian tsunami.
