I advised joining a 'shooting club' (as opposed to buying a gun) because there is an obvious interest there,and seeing as a trained person is less likely to have a mishap.

I suppose that's the difference between us and the U.S.

First of you need to make a plan...are you gonna be bugging out or staying put?

Put together a bug out bag and make sure it has things in for hunting, fire starting, shelter, first aid, warmth, emergency rations and anything else you think you need.

For staying put you would need to store food, canned or freeze dried food lasts for ages so you could store quite a bit of that, store ammo, batteries, medicine, barter items, the list is extensive so you would have to work out exactly what supplies you need.

Like many posters have suggested take up a shooting or self defence class, this should give you more of an advantage in a sitX.

If your plan is to stay put you could also talk to neighbours and arrange some sort of group for mutual protection, remember safety in numbers!

Yeah i know what you mean, if it comes to 16 year olds having guns, at least make sure they're trained how to use them, but the thought of a 16 year old carrying a gun is bringing images to mind of these kids in Rio with AK's etc, lol its just madness.

Nobody is advocating that she buy a gun and go shoot up her school with it.. All that has been suggested is she learn a few survival skills, and if a parent or relative is willing to teach her, learn how to properly handle and shoot a firearm. Guns don't kill people, people kill people.

A car is just as deadly in the wrong hands as a gun. would you begrudge her a license too?

I agree teenagers shouldn't obsess themselves with Sitx scenarios, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with being knowledgeable and prepared should the worst come to pass. Wouldn't you prefer your son,daughter, wife, etc. know how to defend themself in the event that you were killed or incapacitated? I know I would.

It's possible to have a life, and still be prepared for the worst. It not an obsession for me, it's more like a responsibility that I take very seriously. It ranks right up there with putting food on the table, providing a roof over their heads, and clothes on their backs.

A pacifist attitude regarding survival will only get you killed.

I actually just starred your post because i agreed with what you said.

I didn't mean that i think she'd go and shoot up a school, and i agree that you should learn survival skills at a young age, to be honest, introducing something in schools like outdoor training would be good. i'm only 19, 3 years older than the OP so its not as if i'm some old man getting on kids backs but it shows how mad the world is becoming when 16 year olds are saying "holy crap the worlds going to end! i better buy a gun!"

Whether shes a black girl or a white man, its still a bit worrying that people are encouraging her to buy a gun, thats the point i'm making. 16 year olds should be out having a laugh with mates, not buying guns, worying when sitx will happen.

Frankly I don't really see Situation X happening any time soon. But if you want to have a survival kit ready a friendly SIG and Kabar are nice things to have on your list.

Also if you want to test your marksmanship you could buy a Airsoft pistol. UHC makes a great 1911 for 16 bucks, and I'm positive there's a SIG airsoft out there.

this won't prepare you for the recoil of a real weapon, but you can effectively learn how to quickly reload, properly hold, and aim a pistol with sufficient accuracy without even buying a real weapon.

I already know where alot of Vital organs are so when It comes to a protect situation i'm not worried.

So what exactly do you want from this thread, just where to buy a good gun? Your thread title mentions Survival help but in all your posts it justsounds like you want to buy a gun or carry a big knife.

Any extra informaton is all I need i've been preparing for a while but need some KNOWledge if anybody can give me that in these post please do. When your underaged your kind of at a lose when if comes to personal protection.

The World is going crazy, and I fear it's going to get much worse before it get better.

I always thought the boy scouts and the girl scouts were great organizations for learning outdoor skills, citizenship, and self-reliance, but not many kids seem interested today.

Yeah i agree, hell even National Service might be a good idea to bring back, it even still exists in some countries such as Israel. It might sort out some of the craziness thats going on. Anything like the scouts etc are a fantastic idea and i was part of the army cadets when i was about 14 or 15. It teaches young people respect, discipline and it offers advice on protection etc, but i think we need to draw the line at kids carrying guns for fear of this SITX.

uh, I geuss you could learn how to bump fire but it's mostly just a trick.

you just put your thumb of your opposite hand on the trigger and let the recoil take the next shot.

Other than showing you where to get the materials not really. An armored tactical vest with compartments for clips and a holster is nice but almost as expensive as a gun in some cases. Depending on the severity of sitX you may just have to loot all your equipment off of dead police officers and SWAT. Just helping someone prepare for an unknown event of unknown origin isn't easy.
