Tradition is something that has been altered since the beginning of time. No one tradition has sustained a span of time with out alteration. There is no reason to not shift traditions to include gay couples if it has no adverse affect on society.

Actually we used to live in villages were the woman took care of the children while the men went out and did well...man things
there's a concept. Do you think adam and steve had a child in there hut. what people refer to as tolerance is a code word for except our agenda or your a _______ and everyone thats been indoctrinated into our line of thinking will frown on you. I can tell you there is some active indoctrination in our public scholl system on this issue presently along with alot of other nonsense.

some active indoctrination

If you want to make Adam and Steve jokes and wild conspiracy theories against gay people, fair enough. This is your way of thinking and your post is simply full of your opinion, as are many of mine and others.

I don’t know where you get the majority of your notions about gay people or their presence in society, or tradition, or the nuclear family in general but it is clear from you repeatedly being unwilling to address my post to you, plus ignoring some entirely, that you have no intention to budge on this issue despite the research and testimonies of children raised by gays themselves which counter your argument. (If you wish to validate any of my statements please visit the APA link I gave, if that is not sufficient ask for more.) And please if you wish to further debate with me cite some sources and quick the ridiculous, unsubstantiated smear campaign regarding the “gay agenda”.

The fact is that for many of these kids all their future holds is being passed around through the system until they are 18 or being in and out of foster families. I really doubt these kids would mind having two dads or two moms, just as long as there was somebody to love them and encourage them. Isn't that what all humans look for?!

If we are going to say who can get married, and who can adopt or have kids...I say we go all out! No more stupid people, ugly people, fat people, or people without blonde hair and blue eyes can breed. (catch the allusion?)

I know many gay people and they are some of the nicest people out there, they get hated against and know that it hurts others. (The same applies with most fat people I know.) So maybe gay parents would teach their kids tolerance..something that we as a species are lacking and desperately need. If everyone was tolerant of each other there would be no hate crimes, murders, or wars. I honestly see nothing wrong with it, and in fact I think it should be encouraged.

Nope not oddly your grasping.

I suppose that means you aren't willing to state what you believe "traditional" means? May I ask, how am I grasping? I find it interesting you would say so when that is all you've done in this argument, other than stating an opinion thats conclusion comes from nothing but your own ignorance and refusal to see simple facts on these issues, and your refusal to counter them with subtance.

I explained this already.

Okay...

First off..God made everybody, including Adam and Steve.
Second..It's their hut not there
Third...It's accept not except
Fourth...It's you're not your
Fifth...Its school not scholl (the thing you should go back to)

I'm very intolerant of those god damned bad spellers pushing their agenda to destroy the English language. I feel that our schools are pushing this agenda. These people want others to be tolerant of their bad spelling and grammar, and expect others to simply ignore it, so that eventually it becomes "okay." Learn to spell simple words, it will make your point seem more valid.

If I were in charge of the world...you wouldn't be breeding or adopting.

I know lots of gay parents and lots of straight parents here in San Francisco. People who are down to earth and comfortable in their skins (which a lot of gays in SF totally are) have healthy love to give.

And people who are over-stressed, neglectful with their time, confused on their priorities or not able to take care of themselves or their relationship much less the demands of children (which a lot of straights as well as lbgt's everywhere totally are) have less love to give.

It really doesn't matter what these people do for sex and who they do it with. It's the "willingness to be giving" that makes you a good parent through the lean times, the barf even when you also have the flu, the mess of leggos, the constant questions and tugs, 3 AM earaches, the homework projects, the forgotten lunch bags...

With so many ignored sad foster care kids out there, IMHO there is no excuse for denying anyone capable the right to be a parent if they choose to take that tough job. And gay couples get a far tougher lifelong screening than natural parents do before they are handed a child.

My two cents worth as a hetero mom of 3 daughters - the youngest of which spooned yogurt into the dvd player earlier... So, I'm off to clean that up now...

Just wanted to say thank you. I often feel very alone in my frustration which comes from sharing this opinion with you. Regardless, Thanks. ...Long live the grammar and spelling police!
And yes people, I do understand that some people speak english as a second language and try to be more understanding in such cases...
...as for the rest of you artards...

People who are homophobic are just as bad as any other person who discriminates. It's utterly disgusting, especially because these people don't even realize just how vile and ignorant they are. Many of them also happen to believe that all are created equal, yet somehow don't understand the meaning of all or equal.

People who want to adopt should be judged on their character and whether they are able to provide for a child. Having a different sexual life has nothing to do with raising a child. Anyone who believes they are protecting a child from ridicule are mentally incompetent. You would rather have that child live as an orphan or end up in a terrible home so that they can't be teased.

What child has never been teased for something? How many have been so emotionally devastated that they would have been better off not having the chance to be loved by their parents? You make it sound as if the whole school will constantly attack them which is utterly ridiculous. If teasing ever became a serious problem and the school did not deal with it, el presto the kids could be moved to a different school.

If there are statistics or facts showing how having gay parents is detrimental to a persons childhood than I do not believe homosexuals should be able to adopt. It isnt about what the adodtee's want, but what is good for the kid adopted.
